Actually, I think you could safely call the Honou and Yuki pairing canon. It's not really dealt with in the OVA, but by the end of the Mosquiton 99 series, their relationship seems pretty well established. It's been years, so I don't remember the exact line, but they're acting awfully mushy during that final battle...
