Baliansword 2006-05-31 ch 1,	abuseAwe, this is one of those fictions where you can just sit there and smile the entire time because it is just so darn cute! I really like that Alexander was blatantly open about where Hephaestion stands in his life. It was really cute that he held his hand, and I like that when he moved forward, Hephaestion had to do the same. It made me laugh and smile, in a good way. It was adorable. I get kind of mad that not everyone excepts it. Yet, I understand it. I like that Ptolemy remains a friend though and just goes along with the flow. He's great like that. Another moment I loved, when Alexander kissed Hephaestion's wound. I like it when they can't keep their hands off of one another. It makes it so much warmer. And the fact that nothing was hidden in your fiction, that adds a special touch. Another great fiction from you. Can't wait to review the next thing you come up with! ~Baliansword
CoralDawn 2006-05-31 ch 1,	abuseI am beginning to start sounding like a broken record - but once again, this is extraordinarily well-written, Kizzykat! Each of your stories so far is unique and simply awesome. The A/H love simply and very elegantly, shines in your writing! You also capture both Alexander's and Hephaistion's characters perfectly. You have managed so successfully here, to make them twenty-year-olds totally in love, horsing around, mixing work with fun, and teasing crusty, old generals. I also like how Alexander has to balance what he CAN do as King (keep Hephaistion with him at the meeting to send a subtle message) with what he can't but wants to (not assign him to Philotas). I also love your flawless attention to historical detail, like Hephaistion not yet a Bodyguard at age 20, but Alexander planning to make him one at the very earliest. I am looking forward to more stories from you - I have read and reread your stories many times. I would love a sequel to this story when they meet again at night after the battle - after bruise on hip, battle, singing and victory - together once again.
Queendel 2006-05-31 ch 1,	abuseI like this fic which has a fresh plot, the youthfullness of both Alexander and Heph shines through along with their love for each other. I like when Alexander publicly shows his love and devotion to Heph, especially in front of his Generals. And you gave me a supportive Parmenion...Wow! Philotas is a proud and envious ass. I like naughty, seductive Heph and it was sweet to see his effect on the Generals. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to more fics from you soon.

I like the freedom you have Alexander and Hephaistion display even in front of the other more senior staff. You have a definite way with writing the more "romantic" scenes bet. A & H that is very hard to ignore and very, very entertaining. I look forward to your next story.
