It is a rare thing to find someone with your skills. I am a big fan of Pyro and X3 bugged me. Especially with leaving Pyro's fate hanging. What happened to him. I enjoy your solution.

It is also good to see grammar and spelling used correctly. Most people need a beta but not you.

I look forward to any other Pyro centric stories from you. And maybe pray that you will continue this one somehow.

Awwe! I really love this fic. It answered so many questions that I had while walking out of the theater: What happened to Pyro? Will the government arrest Mystique after she gave away the camp location? and many more.

I love the almost fatherly-son relationship between Pyro and Magneto. The way that Erik held John back on the bridge seemed like such a fatherly thing to do. I always thought that he cared for Pyro and not just because of his powers and your story shows exactly that. Man, I thought that I was the only one who thought that.

I also like how understanding Mystique is in this story. She doesn't exactly seem like the maternal type, yet she plays the role so well. The entire bit about the chess pieces (Magneto = King, Mystique = Queen, Pyro = Bishop) was excellent. Totally believable too. It makes the three of them seem like one little, messed up family of sorts. They truly care for the well-being of each other, and I think that is so sweet. Your tale truly brought that familial feeling to light. I love it!

It was nice to see the X-Men accept John back into the mansion, although I did think that they were a little bit harsh on him (he was injured after all). It's totally believable that Wolverine would knock him out, especially considering his emotional state at the time. It's just too hard to believe that Bobby would also smack him around after John woke up. Oh well.

All together, I must say nicely done. You made a believable story about the events after X3 that answered all of my questions. Too bad this is only a one-shot, because I would have loved to read more about Pyro and his struggles for survival and acceptance. Beautiful story!
