wonderfully written. Well thought out, and you captured the emotions very well. I would hope that this would turn into a 2 shot, at least, but I can understand if you leave it this way. More feeling and emotion involved.

What a scene of loss here, such bad portents for our friends. You so clearly capture the _feeling_, not just the fact, of impaired vision, and it coats the whole story with a heavy darkness.
