Very well writen and thought out story. The way you described the interactions of the characters and expressions was to the point were i could almost picture it, as if i was watching it through a blurred lense. i really wish that you would write a fallow up to this story but for some reason i feel it might harm the orignal concept of the story, though i could be wrong. very nice 5 out of 5.

Nice, i second all other reviews posted here. I would go on a long triad of praise, but, everyone else here has stolen the words out of my proverbial mouth.

Great Job, great plot, and terrificly written, you have yourself a job that you can be proud of, to bad that the Tenchi Muyo fanbase isn't larger so that more people can do your story justice.

By the way, how long did it take to write, anything less than 6 months and i will be extremely jealous

This is one of the most intelligable Tenchi Muyo! fics I've ever read, and for that, I thank you.

It is a bit wordy, but the characterization and dialogue are so great that I kept plowing through, and I'm very pleased to say that I was not the least bit disappointed. I'm glad you've chosen to examine the obvious though often over-looked state of limbo that Tenchi and the girls constantly dwell in. Put simply, as nice as everything is, he's got to move on. He can't be a forty-something still living in a house with five (or six) alien woman and unmarried.

I also like Washu, especially in the OAVs, she is an inegmatic and fun character. Your characterization of her was head on! She really does have the capability of telling someone point-blank that she's in love with him and continue to be open and casual. It's part of what I love about her. And frankly, she's the most mature of all the girls - in action, not just actual age - not including Sasami, who, at least during our time line, is still to young to be a potential love interest for Tenchi.

The dialogue between her and Ryoko is heartbreaking but, again, masterfully accurate. I could pick out lines and references straight from the series.

I'm really glad you chose to show Tenchi reacting to Washu. I never really thought of it seriously before, but she is the one who seems to be outside of the competition for Tenchi-as-trophy, and I can see how Tenchi would really appreciate that.

Well done. You might have inspired me to write my own story.

That was beautiful! I honestly can not find any other way to describe this story. Please return to this at some time, one way or the other. It's crying out for further exploration. T

I wish I can give you a intellectual critique but at the moment I can't because I am stunned by your story. Washu is an frightfully underused character which is a shame because aside from Ryoko she's the most interesting Tenchi character there is.

I thought it was a little too wordy and descriptive at the beginning but about a quarter of the way through the language gelled and it was became beautiful.

Washu characterization was amazing, as was Tenchi and Ryokos. You got Ryoko childish nature down pat. You even managed to spark some life into Ayeka which is hard in my opinion.

This was a really good story, I wish there were more Tenchi stories like it out there!

Wow, excellent story. I like the characterization of Washu in this story. I can see that she's very mature compared to Tenchi but still retains her playful side.
My only complain is that I just feel the ending is somewhat not strong enough, it's good but I think you could have done it better.
Great stuff.

Wow, this is an extremely well written and mature one-shot fic. Isn't nearly enough of that in the Tenchi Muyo section, which is really a shame. You sure you don't want to keep writing this, make it one of those 100k+ word epics ;)

I enjoyed your work very much, you captured the character's personality perfectly. The ability you have to write about such raw emotions is incredible, something I envy and admire at the same time. Keep it up! I just wrote, or am writing my first fanfic and I'd like your opinion.

Washu sounds like a very emotional mortal being. However, I find Washu to be an immortal being beyond emotional distractions. Your scenes draw out possible flaws of Washu's (nature of) being. Tenchi seems to be a very thoughtful and dramatic being. Eh? Overall, every other character seems to be all right.

From what I can remember, Tenchi does not seem to be one who partakes in productive or conclusive conversations. Your dialogues for Tenchi's grandfather and father seem most persuasive. However, at some point or another, every character is seemingly original.

Grammar and spelling seem good. Your story is rather long, but very nice.

You know I don't take Tenchi seriously, as a show or as a character. The dialogue and emotions you've given him don't ring true to me at all, and that's strictly due to my own biases. However this may sound, I adore this story, and I'll tell you why. :)

Your prose is effortless. I know you probably work very hard to get everything to sound how you want it to and create a certain mood from your construction, but it reads very smoothly. It glides. It's a joy to read something once and marvel at the liquidity of its form, then it hits upon understanding and clicks, bringing a very clear vision of what's happening in the story's time. I don't think I'm explaining this well, but say during the Washu/Ryoko conversation (which is still my favorite), I could picture all of the icy hostility and frustrated bewilderment Ryoko must have felt through your careful descriptions of her demeanor. It adds a real depth to every scene and character, breathing life into their interactions and introspections. I'm in awe of your skill in this area.

Onto the dialogue, again, you nail Washu's intellectual speech patterns perfectly, juxtaposed with her playful, dry wit to complete her well-rounded character. She totally outshines Tenchi in this story (though I do observe and appreciate your attempts to inflate his insignificant canon-established 'character' and turn him into a real person with hopes, desires, and flaws beyond 'dorky awkward nice guy,' you know he's nothing to me) as a charismatic entity whose internal motives and processes are truly interesting to discover. She seems both human and superhuman at once, which is just the way she should be.

Onto the romance, well, I like the way it's handled. Again, personally and to be taken with a grain of salt, I would have preferred more subtlety on that front, but for what you were out to accomplish, which was a viable Tenchi/Washu pairing, you completely succeeded. They don't get together in the first sentence, and Tenchi doesn't destroy the validity of the other girls' affections to justify 'choosing' Washu. The story doesn't even read as a means to an end for romance, rather it's like a slice of life, a crucial turning point in the stagnating life of Tenchi, who is finally beginning to see that he can't remain forever in a constant state of "Stop it, girls!" oafishness and how Washu helps him realize the need for action and change. And it's obvious that she's the only one who could be perceptive enough to do this for him.

Again, love your writing style, burning with envy, blah, people who are disenchanted with typical Tenchi fanfic offerings should READ THIS, marvel at the beauty, and leave a nice review, k? :D
