Good chapter. Your story is evolving with a complexity and I like to see that.

One minor concern: you have Robin shoutnig at Amon and attempting to hit him at one point, which I'm not entirely sure she would do. But it's a brief instance in an otherwise very in-character situation. You have an amazing grasp on Amon's character, totally flawless through the whole chapter.

The Egyptian history in your author's notes was well put. I do want to point out that the bit with Amon being the "marquis of hell" , as a wolf with a serpent's tale and breathing fire, is not related to the Egyptian myth of the god Amun at all, but is in fact a description of one of King Solomon's demon servants, Amon. Chances are that Solomon, being of Hebrew descent, probably wanted to influence peoples' minds and associate Amon's name with an evil demon, rather than the god they had known and worshipped while in Egypt.

I'd like to think I know my Egyptian history pretty well, having studied it for a time; however I personally have not ever read anything suggesting Amenhotep I tried to suggest monotheism; I would think the fact that Akenhaten had changed his name from Amenhotep IV, in defiance of his father's belief in the gods, would suggest that Akhenaten was doing this of his own accord (or at least the first in his own family to do so). The Aten, as a symbol, already existed prior to Akhenaten, but he was the only one to assert that Aten was the true God worth worshipping and all the other ones were false.

Wow! I love this story quite a bit, very engaging. I like how robin & amon are comfortable around eachother now(even though amon is a bit distressed about "some things" at the moment)Hope you continue soon!
