*cries* I know it's silly but I just can't get over Hayate's death :(...
I love the description of him, his katana and the moonlight. It's a very vivid image.
The writing is beautiful.

I knew someone gonna write a beautiful story of him, Hayate. Certainly not me. Sounds familiar? Well, let's just say I love the ending. Thank you for the wonderful read.
The Silver Feathered Raven
2006-06-14 . chapter 1
A very enjoyable piece to read. The language and word choice is excellent, and conveys the mood of the piece very well. All the little thoughts from Hayate's head, all of the little insights on him, they are all wonderful to read. The entire story has a very nice flow to it, as well as a poetic feel. The second to last line is one of my favorites to it; it wraps the piece up nicely. Hayate's struggle with his illness seems very realistic, as well as his insistance on continuing even after he has been told to stop being a ninja. Really, a very beautiful piece, the exact sort that I like reading the most.

I liked this fic for a number of things. For one, it's about Hayate. I find him to be one of the more realistic characters in that he was just going about on his way, minding his own business...just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time...then he died. He's not even trying to be heroic or something like Sandaime did when he died. I guess we can all relate to that, that sometimes in life, ** happens...and all we can do is to deal with it the best way that we can with the resources available to us. And Hayate seemed to be the optimistic pessimist in this way, dealing with his misforutne with a kind of sad, resigned but very determined resolution which I find admirable. I think you potrayed that very well in this fic.

Another thing I particularly liked about this fic is the parts you described the sword practice. I've had the chance to start learning the sword and I can say that the feeling is quite something, and I can't really put into words. But I think you've captured it wonderfully here.

Sorry for the lengthy review, I guess I got carried away. *sheepish smile* The whole fic although kind of melancholic, is quietly inspirational and truly beautiful. I love it.

Wow. I love this piece. I've always wanted to learn a little bit more about the history behind the tragic martyr. Nice job.

(how's that for a review?)

In more seriousness... Ouch. Ouch. Poor Hayate. Ne, he's my baby, you know? And this was- Oh, sad. And I mean, yeah, I suppose we should be happy, 'cause he succeeds, and he gets his Dance of the Crescent Moon, and what not, but... HE DIES.

I love this and all your beautiful words. I love seeing Hayate's determination, and the way he cons everyone around him, including himself. This is a beautiful gift, and I thank you for it!
