Dawn 'n' Dusk 2009-07-06 . chapter 1Death to the Sue!
Okay, so I read your website, and I thought it FABULOUS. But then I read the Two Towers again yesterday, and there's something I don't understand, though I have been a Tolkien fan since eleven. When Galadriel gave the message to Legolas through Gandalf, it said:
"Legolas Greenleaf long under tree
In joy thou hast lived. Beware of the Sea!
If thou hearest the cry of the gull on the shore,
Thy heart shall then rest in the forest no more."
- The Two Towers: "The White Rider," p. 106
Why did she say 'Legolas Greenleaf'?

Keith Fraser 2009-07-04 . chapter 1I love the mixture of wry Mary-Sue-mocking comedy and somewhat dark exploration of the potential horrors of a 'realistic' bamf-fic in this story. As another reviewer pointed out, most Mary Sue bamf-fics, and original stories using the similar trope of someone 'escaping' to a fantastical world, don't consider those left behind (probably because these 'escape' fantasies are written by people with overblown delusions that the regular mundane world is so awful and value-less) as well as things like language barriers, medieval diseases and the like. |
 csiwolfe08 2007-08-28 . chapter 1Hahahahahaha!! That was...interesting. But funny nonetheless. :> |
Authoressinhiding 2007-01-14 . chapter 1*rofl* Very interesting. Were I the friend left behind, I would have read the books long before... of course, I'm a reader, not merely a fan-girl. Lovely story, mate. |
Avalon's mists 2006-07-22 . chapter 1you should makes this a story and not just a one shot. |
 N.M.Marquette 2006-06-20 . chapter 1XP

RK9 2006-06-17 . chapter 1LOL! Very good! Far better than all those Mary-Sue Tenth-walker fics that always end with someone married to Legolas! Well done!

Allura Arwen 2006-06-15 . chapter 1Awesome! ^_^ I like the poem at the end as well as the overall point of the story. Another masterpiece! Keep up the excellent work!
Sincerely,
Allura Arwen |
Ocne 2006-06-15 . chapter 1I liked it. The humour was quite welcome.
'when I was finally reading the books that the movies had been made from and enjoying them a lot more than I thought I would' *snorts*
'It was Maple, and it didn’t look like she had married Legolas either.' LOL!
But what impressed me most was your ability to pinpoint that artificial girlish voice right from the first paragraph.
Good job! |
Kaladelia Undomiel 2006-06-15 . chapter 1Interesting... I like it... good job... keep writing...

Linda Lupos 2006-06-15 . chapter 1Very good! This is probably exactly what would happen if a girl bamfed into M-E! No pretty elf princesses but life on the street of a city in a war...
I also liked the perspective from the one left behind. None of the Suethors seem to care about THEM... |
not jackie 2006-06-14 . chapter 1ooh. that's definately an interesting way to look at it. i really enjoyed looking at the whole "girl pops into m.e." idea. quite exhilarating actually. good job! -xan |
Angelique Sauvegarde 2006-06-14 . chapter 1That was kind of funny. I almost got over my disappointment at finding that this wasn't a Lord of the Rings/X-Men crossover. |
Abby Ebon 2006-06-14 . chapter 1*grins* I like it, wonders what happens next- there is a next chapter right? |
