This is interesting! I'm assuming it's a full-on AU and not an AR (prequel-style altering of the Yu-Gi-Oh universe prior to the anime/manga), since you've introduced Ryou, changed ages, and altered first meetings. I do find it amusing and surprisingly well-characterized, and I'm looking forward to seeing how you weave the alternate pairings of Polarshipping and Azureshipping into this. Devotionshipping is quite rare though, so props to you for getting the gutso and inspiration to write it, and write it well.

The only corrections I feel the need to point out are for the schools- in Japan, the grades go 6334, meaning elementary/primary school is grades 1-6, middle school/junior high is equivalent to grades 7-9, high school is equivalent to grades 10-12, and university is 4 years (give or take, depends on program and university). You are right about the cram schools, though.

I look forward to seeing more of this.

LOVE this coupling (though it's not often done) and their sweet possibility!

The story plan you have here is really good so far, it's true to the show but also has it's own originality ie-Jou's mom fearing him!

I hope you'll also include Jou's dad I'd like to see some interaction between them!

I cannot believe how a story such as this could get a few reviews! This is great. The characterizations are truthful. I liked how Anzu expressed herself through the journal-thingy. I guess it's hard when people don't even think you exist...When you just blend in the background...

Ah, this is a lovely treat. This first chapter was a tad confusing as I don't recall you specifying that it is AU. You should probably do that as people might get...confused. Even though we really haven't seen much, Anzu and Jounouchi - or Anzu's memories of him - seem very much in character. BRAVO. I hope to see more of this story as there really isn't enough good Jounouchi/Anzu in the world.

Wow, that was an amazing first chapter. I'm hooked already and even though i usually go for kaiba/anzu stories, this one sounds absolutely plausible. I realize that it has to be AU but that's okay - most of what i write is AU too.

I can't wait to see what happens with the letter...
