I always thought Richie's parents might get a little suspicious of the whole Gear thing. I liked the way you portrayed her slow realization of the truth--no big reveal, no dramatic confrontation; just the basic fact that mothers are smarter than most kids give them credit for.

I really wish you'd write more stuff! You've got a very creative take on something totally original. I don't really see anyone else writing about Maggie, and the way this is written is just made of nothing but epic win. There's virtually no grammar problems that I spotted, the sentence structure flows, and you've got a voice to your writing. Just reading it, you can get the sense of frustration and helplessness that Maggie must be feeling.

This work is so underrated! Tis a shame. I'm adding it to my favorites list :]

I enjoyed it, and I liked the origin of the title even if it doesn't seem perfect for the story.

Very interesting and well-handled peice. There were maybe two grammatical errors, but that's all I could spot. I always thought her to be someone who could be an interesting character, even in spite of her lack of developement. Your handling of her is excellent. I really love the last line for some reason
