Mana, in general, is an extremely difficult character to write, let alone add her to a romance. Still you pulled it off pretty well.
I could see how this also could be seen as a Asuna type story. Just change a few things and blam!
As for the Sat-chan thing. Do what ya gotta do man. It did suck for her but it was a necessary event to complete this chapter.

Awe, poor Satsuki has caught the Negi bug. I really liked how this one turned out.
Considering my tardiness, I know my vote wont count but still; I vote Anya.
I doubt it will be her so no biggie.

I think you handled Mana quite well - we started with her normal personality, businesslike, somewhat lacking in emotion, but thats a barrier she's lowered a few times while around Negi so it's easier to see that coming down slowly, as well as how she might react to a particular nudge at the right emotional buttons - she's not as used to using some emotions, so when they come through they come through hard.

Enjoyed it very much, looking forward to future chapters!

Personally I thought you had Mana pretty well pegged. She's had a difficult past and would be pretty hesitant to take a chance one someone IMO.

Well, Mana was definately original, I never saw that one coming.
And as you said, I too got the feeling this was more a senario for Asuna, but Mana is very difficult to write, her being shrouded in so much mystery and all. Perhaps that is why Akamatsu hasn't had her have any more apperances lately.
But it was a good chapter, Negi is still a ten year old and doesn't really get the whole romance thing, which is good. It would be strange if he turned into a regular casanova, well...you get my point.
I am looking forward to seeing that chapter with Sat-chan, I think that will be awesome.

either way... what's with horny kids and horny teenagers XD? is there no such thing as innocent anymore? ...redundant question. either way, dont' feel bad for Mana's chp. she's hard to write becuz u can't really grasp her personality and character without much practice. she's just that mysterious and... unapproachable i think.
