When I read the part about the violet and green light I thought "HOLY CRAP! IT'S ME ON NEW YEARS WHEN I BURN MY EYEBROWS OFF!" Yeah, New Years is a very fun time for a pyro. Do not come to Southeastern Louisiana at the December end because I usually have my fireman neighbor and I lighting up all of his 'confiscated fireworks'. We connect all the wicks and we glue them to plywood boards. Last year we had six boards. HOORAY FOR PYROTECHNETICS! Sorry, random I know. HOORAY 4 MODNARNESS!

I had a horrendous day at work, and I came home to read your story and feel better. Then I get to THAT LINE and almost slapped ya through the monitor! Then I kept reading and chilled out. Now I want Cheetos. Cheetos and bed.

I do like the way Chanty got smacked though... reminds me of me and my man. I could be grinnin'like a fool when I backhand him across the bicep. He's not so bad as to fake his own death, but he's still a man.

ANYWAY back to the point (was I ever there?)... I LIKE IT! Very good story. To be honest, I think Chanticlair (-ere, -eer? whatever LOL) is a highly under-appreciated name, and if I ever get a dog I'm naming him that. Mostly because I already have a kid, and wouldn't want my child to have to correct teachers and new acquaintances for the rest of his life.
