Very cool character piece. Kaylee is one amazing girl. And I gotta ask, have you read the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? Because River's line ("Two to the power of two hundred and sixty-seven thousand seven hundred and nine to one against," River offered) is most definitely reminiscent of the Infinite Improbability Drive.

Wow...now this is mighty powerful fic! Kaylee actually giving Early a chance to survive, even if never recognizes it as that...

Gotta admit...this is a fascinating possibility that takes Kaylee's character traits into consideration. She can't kill unless desperately necessary, so she uses a far more powerful weapon: faith:)
