RyanReynoldsPersonalStalker 2009-01-03 . chapter 62oh my god i love this story. i didn't review until i finished it. i wanted to save it. i love this. it was so great. i mean real life stuff. you didn't make it seem fake. you come to love the characters almost more than you could watching the movie. you gave them all distinct personalities even the ones who didn't get a major role in the movie. you shaped them so well that they seemed real. there were parts i laughed out loud. cried. got mad at and wouldn't read for a while because of. but i always came back because it was so good. i cried during that last chapter. well the last few chapters. it was like you were with the characters the whole way and at the end when you know it's the end you feel that sadness of having to leave your friends along with them. i dont know if it has something to do with being a senior myself but i felt like i could connect to the characters. i think this is the best newsies story i read. i loved it. great job. |
EmeraldGreyClouds 2008-08-24 . chapter 1i guess im cool too. i live in chester, don't think it's the same one tough. lol |
VampireLover101 2007-10-07 . chapter 62wow. long. i read it for... well three days now. lol. but good, kinda wish i could know what happens next anyways good stuff. good stuff. |
donna79 2007-07-18 . chapter 59Claudia is a great kid. That being said I almost cried when I read the end. Poor Mush, he finally snapped. Blink picked a great time to get his act together somewhat. Good job. |
donna79 2007-07-18 . chapter 58I don't know how I lasted for almost two months not reading this. But I finally had access to a computer and now I'm hogging it. Great job. I have to say that I'm loving Snitch more and more every time he comes into the story. David needs to get over his issues and just accept that Jack isn't going to college. Yeah, it's important. But you can't force someone to go. Blink needs to make a decision too. Hopefully Mush. Even though I do like Luca. |
brockie 2007-06-25 . chapter 1Reading slash and watching the Newsies DVD at the same time on one's computer is really amusing. You should try it sometime.
Didn't I tell you I was going to review every chapter? Well, here I am. Back at the beginning of DAMY again. -sighs- Oh the memories...
Anyway. Skittery amuses me. A lot.
“Never heard it,” David admitted. “Who sings it?”
Skittery blanched. “Never heard it? Never heard it? Man, I have to teach you, man. Billy Joel sings it. I worship Billy Joel.”
“Really? The ‘Uptown Girl’ guy?”
Dang. Even I know who Billy Joel is. Gee Davey, I'm ashamed of you. -shakes head sadly-
Jake amuses me too. Just 'cause ;)
And now I have about fifty more chapter to review...hopefully I won't get carpel tunnel...

Peleinferno 2007-05-19 . chapter 61So, my friend read this story first and she recommended it. I finally got around to reading it today.
Oh my freaking GOSH!
You don't know how many times I covered my face and yelled "DON'T CHEAT!"
It's rather exciting.
Anyway, I look forward to the sequel. I've read what you've got up and I canNOT wait for more.
Au Revoir! |
Morbidlyartistic 2007-05-14 . chapter 61David's speech was pretty awesome.
I laughed at the fact he felt it took him years to get to the speech part.
I'm surprised Oscar parent's took the news well.
so yes, it was good. |
xoborogrlxo 2007-05-12 . chapter 61aww I relly loved this chapter! so sweet!! |
incendiary-wit 2007-05-12 . chapter 61That story was the most amazing (and longest) thing I've ever read in any fandom. You rock my socks!
*is not going to admit she went and found "Don't Ask Me Why" at least 20 chapters ago...not at all* |
 PaddyWaddy 2007-05-12 . chapter 62Ah...I smell...SEQUELL! |
brockie 2007-05-12 . chapter 62It's...it's...over? -stares blankly- That can't happen! You're supposed to keep updating forever and ever and ever! Or at least until I die. Which ever comes first.
Ohmigawd. Spot is, like, my new favorite character. Srsly. Nevermind that he was my favorite character when I FIRST watched Newsies and that he was kicked out of my 'Top Three Favorite Characters' by Bumlets only two months after. Spot would make a freakin' awesome teacher. He's so adorable with Hester and Corbin. So he should come skip over to MY school, because even though there're like, 2800 people there, it's still the most boring place on the face of the earth. Bah.
I've said it once, and I'll say it again: Swifty/Snitch is SERIOUSLY making it's way to my favorite pairings list. It's much too cute to be ignored.
Luca is a darn cool New Jersian. 'Nuff said.
I love how Esther has no idea what Oscar's real name is. -snickers- And ohmigawd his coming out reminded me of 'Totally Joe' (most adorable book about a thirteen year old gay kid I have ever had the pleasure to read in school)
I'd like you to know that 'Don't Ask Me Why' has been on my iPod since December because of this fic, and whenever I listen to it, it makes me grin. Even if it's 6:50 and I'm on the bus to school. And that's saying something.
Ack, I still can't believe this fic is over. I think I'm going to go back and review all the chapters I didn't review the first time around. That's like...fifty, I think. Best get started now so I can finish before I go see Spiderman 3...-trots off-
Keep writing or I will hunt you down and MAKE you keep writing. :3

 lostgemini687 2007-05-11 . chapter 62Oh my god, it's over?!?!?!
I loved the way you ended this story - with Jack and David making up, Spot becoming a teacher (haha that was great), and the whole Blink and Mush thing was sad, but I thought it definitely worked well. And I almost cried reading all the graduation stuff!
Man, I'm really gonna miss this story. You are definitely one of my fav authors on this site though, so keep it up! |
 Rustie73 2007-05-11 . chapter 62Bravo!
You did a kick-ass job with this story. I laughed, I cried, and I loved every bit of it. (And in the back of my mind, I still wonder if you really aren’t a middle aged woman from Orange County NY. Nobody should know that much about Billy Joel, Mel Brooks, and various other 1970’s trivia without having lived it.)
It’s hard to believe that you considered giving up this story because you didn’t think that anyone was reading it. You now have 280 reviews and counting. Most writers, myself included, would kill for numbers like that.
Anyway thanks for giving us this wonderful story.
I have some unanswered questions, but I’m not going ask. I’m going to wait and see what develops.
And thanks for remembering my in your ending notes. |
