That was.. disturbing. I knew Dumbledore was that evil, but I honestly thought Luna might have thought better of it. Memory manipulation is a sin almost as bad as the imperius to me.

Well, I suppose it's because of the environment she was raised in.

I wonder what they'd have done with someone like me. I keep backups of all my important plans (and, admittedly, everything else - but I always write down plans), so I'd have realized the moment I stopped to check my laptop what was going on. And if they made me alter the laptop, well, I'd realize next time I tried to take a backup of it. WORM media is handy like that.

_ One does wonder how the Muggle world manages to avoid seeing signs of Hogwarts. We had a long drawn-out discussion of it on one of the mailing lists and come to the conclusion that it's only possible through the major governments with satellites knowing of the magic world and agreeing to maintain the secret by fudging data.

HAHA! Brilliant! I love Muggle-Wizard interaction. The idea of someone wanting to investigate the Hogwarts lake is so clever. Luna was spot on, it was so cute. Thanks for the fun read!

Well that was rather interesting. I was thinking they might run into more than must Luna though and really have an adventure running from trolls, hiding in caves, and the whole scooby doo adventure. :P

A good little story.

Ah! What a delightful story. Of course it must happen sooner or later that muggle cryptozoologists encounter their witch counter part. Too bad they didn't get much time to compare notes (Luna was obviously on her way when Dumbledore put the discussion back on track) - Luna would have had matherial for an entire Quibbler edition, not to mention what Andrew and Milly would have learned - if yet only for a short time. Warm and nice, and Luna's interaction with the muggles - especially her shock when she realized that she had slipped information - and Dumbledore was simply marvelous. It was a laugh to see her described as a "strange waif" - even if I must admit it was on the spot. On the spot was also all her little quirks, beliefs and ideas. "They are Vermonters..." with all it's sinister implications, well known for everyone familiar with the Quibbler (presumibly).

Dumbledore was also a wonderful part of this story. With all his workload concerning the second task, he still found time to deal with the muggles in a thoughtful and effective way. His little interaction with Luna on the topic fibbing is simply marvelous. There is a chap who can handles even the elusive Luna. I actually believe that he HAD his toes crossed. Ah, and as for this little piece I can do nothing than agree - on all its implications:

"As we are on the subject of the Fey, allow me to regale you with a story about your mother..."

now this is funny and unique story..love it..and from a very weird perspective:}
