your story is... awkward.

in 10 words you are able to contridict all that you accomplished for shinji's characteristics... a good story can't have one character living in pain and denial while the next morning he opens his heart and confess his love.

a story requires concepts, a reason, in order to maintain changes or progress. Or you can try a drabble where you spent all that you can to capture a feeling with little plot but not none.
