Anyway, the "day" is over and the story says "complete" so obviously it's not an issue here. Personally, I don't think Soda would be bugging (or asking) Pony about girls in that way. Soda knows Pony better than that, and he would not ever try to push him into something that he is too young for... But otherwise, it was a kind of sweet little chat between the brothers. A nice way to end it. I would have liked to have seen more Darry/Pony interaction in the story - that is the really interesting relationship. The most profound and most compelling relationship in the book. I would have liked to have seen more of it, and with Darry being a little more in character than he was here - again, respect the character. But in spite of these issues, it was a good story. Congrats. Nice job. |

I absolutely can't stand it when fanfic authors try to throw a girlfriend into Pony's life long before he is ready... it's one of the worst things. He just turned 14. He's not interested in girls in that way yet. It's made very clear. It's really awful when authors don't respect that. I'm not criticizing your writing. I think what you wrote here was very nice. I'm just making a general comment, because I think someone else said that Pony needed a girlfriend, and it's just not true... the character needs to be handled gently and appropriately, and he needs to be respected just as he is... really. Anyway, nice story you have here, although I think there was a bit of OOC-ness in some chapters. Overall, very nice though. |
