wouldn't tell them about anything(like where they are or what their goal really is besides finding a round pink jeewel), like in "The lake of souls" he would just ditch them there and let them figure it out on their own. Although maybe he would have them be able to speak Japanese (they wouldn't even know at first). And there should be the wholegang with them, instead of just him and Debby-with and Harket as well.
