This is such a good story! I think you potrayed Hotohori really well and it is such a beautiful story, although I don't like the ending that much (I think it is too sad...cries) I admit that I haven't read much Hotohori and OC story, or even Hotohori and Houki story but this is definatly the best one I have read so far (admits shamefully- so jealous of your writing skills and talent!)

I'm not writting to you as a girl you are beta-reading her story, but as a reviewer and previously ghost-reader (sorry!) of your story Faces in the Sand. First of all, I wanted to congratulate you, I firmly believe that your story is the best Hotohori centered fic there is on the net. And one of the best Fushigi Stories that I have ever read (believe me, I've read quite a lot!)

Not only do I like the Epilogue (for me, the best chapter of the whole story) but also the sweet and yet heart-to-heart conversation between Adhiti and Houki. If there is one thing that I like to feel when I read is that the words describing it are being used so well, so perfectly, that you can also feel a part of the scene. And the sadness and quietness that I was able to feel in the last chapter, as well as Adhiti's fears and confusion in the other chapters ... it was certanly one of the highest points of the story. The last chapter can be read so peacefully, so quietly, as the scene keeps on going... I don't know if I have explained myself correctly, I do hope I did though!

As for the rest of the story... this is REALLY original; why do people say Hotohori is out of character? I don't really know, don't agree with that either, and mainly because we have seen him mad before and he reacted just in the same way as he did in your scenes: where something was out of his control and he can not handle it, he get's sad and thinks quietly. When the person he loves... he feels he can't help her, he looses control of the situation... he feels useless, and get's angry (the scene before Miaka drowns) I don't know... I did feel that Hotohori was in character, and from what you showed Haku.. .as well.

Houki... other of the highest points of this story. She did love Hotohori, we saw that. And the fact that she held no hatred towards Adhiti... the last scene was very touching "You shall have me to share your regret with" O_O Simply perfect. And I like the conclusion of the ending... that she would have complemented him in more ways that Adihiti herself... I like that you have not omited Hotohori's PROVEN love for his wife. I still don't know why people do not believe in it (That's why PROVEN is written in capital leters, eheh)

Ah! I feel like I have already told you everything I wanted. Just one more thing... why haven't I reviewed before? I don't know. But I do know that if I sent you that email that day was because I had been reading your story and liked the way you wrote. Please do not flame me for being a Ghost-reader, there are some things I don't understand myself! ^_^

It would be nice to know what those letters say, yet it feels as if perhaps I am asking too much. I usually love it when great fanfics have great sequels, yet your story is completle perfect the way it is. It would be, perhaps, too unfitting to ask you for a sequel. The story is excelent the way it is and, even though I don't doubt that a sequel would be as good as the best part, this story is already perfect by herself. Though...I wouldn't doubt on reading a second part! ^_^

Ah! Hopefully, you are planning on writing more Fushigi Yugi fics, that I'd be delighted to read!

I haven't had much time lately to write anything XD It's either games, manga, novels, or homework. Mostly it's homework, and if that's done, my friend gets mangas from the library and i wanna read them... and I get some good books from the library i want to read... and games... I just got a PS2 which is kinda late considering that the PS3 is coming out soon. And, I've got to go to my volunteer job. So yeah, I'm kinda swamped... But despite this, I have some free time every now and then. But I wanna finish my second story first before starting a new one and that'll be about like, another 5 chapters to go... ^^; Thanks for being eager to read it! XD I'll try to get it up some time.

you know? i don't understand why people say hotohori is THAT out of character... i think that he isn't! perhaps he may have gotten a little angrier than he normaly would have, but we don't know how he would have reacted in some situations like the ones you've put him through!
i feel really sorry for adhiti.. but it's so like hotohori to worry about her... and haku is a perfect character, he really cares for his emperor (i always believed - an even more after reading suzaku hi den... have you read it? houki rocks!- that he cared for him like a son, and not only as an emperor.. but well, that's just me)
anyway, i really hope yo UPDATE SOON! tehre are not many good hotohori good fics out there, and this one is the best alternate universe there is in the net. update soon! and hey! poor houki! what about her? didn't hotohori trully love her...i always thought he did :/
