Aww. Mal is such a woobie. Major points for character faithfulness; great banter, great interaction. My only nitpick is that halfway through the fic, you switch POV—which if fine, of course, but since it’s sort of a ways down, the reader is already under the impression that the story is supposed to be from Mal’s perspective. Anyway, awesome fic, I love it. )

You write Mal and Inara's slowly weakening barriers and slowly increasing dance so well, smokydays...the right mix of humour and pathos and the unique qualities that allow us to like Mal's rather troubling devil-may-care attitude and Inara's emotional restraint:)
