I liked the description of the kiss and I wasn't confused over it even without the footnote. I knew what you meant, but I could see how it was misinterpreted. lol.

Must admit, I laughed at the 'taste flowing over his tongue' part. I have a very dirty mind -bad Nicole-. Again, nicely written. You should write more about this character. She has a lot of potential.
