What illustrates this best to me is when I think of the differences between Saffron and Kaylee -- even covered in engine grease, Kaylee is STILL more appealing than a dressed-up Saffron ('cause Saffron is rooten on the inside and Kaylee is sweet on the inside). I also like how the relationship between Fess and River is developing. Just like Zoe does, I think that Jayne DOES have a soft side. But that he tries to hide-it-and-repress-it even MORE than Zoe does -- afterall, Zoe has had the benefit of being unconditionally-loved by Wash. |

I like how River wishes to have a ordinary life again, like the way she was BEFORe the Academy. And how she recognizes that she can't have that, so she's adjusted to enjoying that Serenity is her home. |

It was great how Mal reacted to seeing Fess, and getting jealous. I can see why he has a crush on Inara (she was his first woman). I also like how River is developing. Yes, she's still broken, but she's re-building herself. |

It was a Good chapter. Can't wait to see more. My only criticism is that mal seems a little out-of-caracter in ways that I can't really explain... does that count as criticism? |
