i was reading this story, i just started today, and got up to about chapter 16.. its 3am in the morning though where I live and so in a desperate (and shameful) attempt to just see what happens i skipped to the end. I then spent 10 minutes crying realised that Derek actually left. I love this story, it displays such genuine emotion and makes me feel and understand things I never thought I could.

Please, bring Derek back, he couldn't possibly survive without Casey and I don't think that Marti could really ever forgive him. I know it's your story but really a girl shouldn't have to cry this much at 3 in the morning. I notice its been a while since you last updated but please, don't leave me hanging in this agony. Such a wonderful story deserves a wonderful ending.

Aw...Poor Marti! And what is Abby going to say?? And when do they remove their heads from their butts and see that they need each other? I know the death of a parent is hard but it always caused me to get closer to the people I love...not push them away. But hey everyone's got different coping mechanisms so who am I to judge.

I forgot I was going to ask, is Casey pregnant? I only ask because there was no mention of contraceptive, I mean she may have been on birth control, but it was not mentioned. So, just a little question I had. Please continue on and please, at a faster pace if possible.

WOW! I love this story! You have an amazing writing style and you can create and capture the emotions perfectly. I really hope you continue with this story. I'm hoping for sooner updates seeing your start date and last update date. You maintained a good balance of the three different issues in the story. Grief, love, and custody of Marti. Good job on that.

The love scene was tasteful and well-written and enjoyable, really, because I really liked the "As though every kiss left behind the three words he was chanting in his head. 'I love you, I love you, I love you...'".
Yeah. That part was...probably my favorite in that scene.

There were a couple of typos, but unfortunately, I now don't remember where they were. Psshh, that constructive criticism can wait. Good job!

Oh no Derek actually left without Casey, I have a feeling that's not going to work and it's not going to make anything better when he gets back. The bit where Marti and Casey helped Derek feel better, even just a little bit was really sweet and it just seemed very Derek. Thanks for updating!

i like both the fact that emily is AWESOME in this chapter and that it makes me smile sadly as well. u r really good- scratch that- AWESOME (my word of the day.lolz) at writing drama and angst. that can be hard so good- wait for it- AWESOME job!

i definetely think that "for marti" is a better title. and i like the plot just the way it is. you actually had me crying at some parts! it takes a really descriptive (but not too dramatic) author to write such a story and BINGO we've found that author!
