I got attached to all the characters and was rooting for Junior and Kurt. I could only read a couple of chapters at a time because I was pressed for time, so it was a treat for me to come home each day, looking forward to the next few chapters of your story. I can't wait for the next one. Thanks for writing and sharing with us!

I like how you were drawing attention to the character's attributes through other character's points of view. Jack thinking about Lureen and how she's changed over the years. Kurt musing over the hypocrisy of the kids at school. Louisa thinking about her siblings and even Jimmy. Bobby thinking about his fathers and mother. It's a very effective way of getting things across. I notice that Junior's faded into the background a bit though, and wonder if this is because she's traumatized or if you're just trying to balance how much her point of view was used in earlier chapters? Bobby being my favorite character I don't mind seeing his point of view used often. Nice work!

I still don't like him, but I really wouldn't wish something like that upon anyone! I liked Ennis and Jack's convo. It had a kind of eye of the storm sort of quality to it. Like that was a break from all the chaos. Not to mention Ennis has only uttered those words about three whole times the whole story. :) Loved, and I hope you update soon, because this is the only BBM fic I'm reading because I'm afraid I won't like it unless it you and your amazing story. :) -Lynn

From what I remember. God... I hope he's okay! There's another thing I'm worried about. Laureen isn't gonna try and take Bobby away is he? I mean, she's got a pretty good excuse, well, I mean one that she can use against them, saying they're a danger to Bobby. I mean, Jack and Ennis want what's best for the boy. I dunno, I'm rambling, but I hope that doesn't come up... puppy eyes DON'T TAKE BOBBY WAY! And, dude, how long is this thing gonna be! We're almost 50 chapters here and I see NO end in sight... Random tidbit, but I feel I must share: one of my friend's sister got two seven-week-old guinea pigs, both boys, and named them Del Mar and Twist. How amazingly adorable is that? Tine 2008-08-08 ch 46,	abuseGreat chapter. So sad about Jimmy Kent. Hopefully he'll be found safe and sound. Maybe the whole ordeal'll knock some sense into him. On a different note, with the release of the Dark Knight, Heath Ledger's performance reminded me of his dedication to getting Ennis just right. And I went about re-watching a few of the major scenes in the movie. And I was struck by how the two men could have had a life like the one in this fic. And it makes me so sad, to think of the real couples out there who may have felt (and maybe still feel) that they don't deserve to be happy and in love. I think that's what I love most about this story. It celebrates an opportunity that Ennis and Jack might have had. It celebrates deep devoted love that isn't cheezy, simply true. And I really appreciate the hard work you've put into creating such an honest piece of work. I know it aint easy! Thanks for sharing it with all of us.
