Your nuanced takes on everyone's relationships is so refreshingly real. I love all of these little shots, they bring the Jak world into a little more focus for me. This one in particular stands out, but I think it's because Ashelin and Torn have such a well established but not often explored relationship that you excel at dialoging. Thanks so much for all of them!

That chapter was simply amazing. It was very deep and I can really hear all of the pain Daxter was going through. Go Tess for sitting through it! I really like how you portrayed her; not just the ditzy person you see on the outside, but a thoughtful person on the inside. And I imagine Daxter needed to vent to somebody, so you did a wonderful job coming around that touchy situation.
I had some wonderful mental images while reading, such as Jak sleeping in the booth. Very cute. Daxter describing when he saw Jak being tortured in the prison also brought around an astonishing mental image, though somewhat disturbing as well. All in all, your work is inspiring and very well written. Good job!

Chapter 7 (Mornings) and Chapter 10 (Good Ol' Jak) were my favorites, I think. All the chapters were good, but those two chapters were especially great.
The idea of Torn winding up to throw the com. unit at Daxter's infuriatingness (especially given the hour of the morning it was) is believable. The idea of people around him starting to duck is believable and hilarious. The idea of him suddenly stopping and replying, as well as how he did so 'peaceful' had me chortling evilly.

I don't know where to start with chapter 10, but I know I can end with the ending it has--meaning that I liked how Daxter went crash with Jak instead of Tess.

Keep writing, these were great reads!

Hilarious! I'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks Torn is a twig. Kekeke. Very nicely written.

That was so incredible. You manage to articulate their characters so perfectly and make it look effortless, and this chapter I could easily picture happening in the game... You seem to know exactly how Daxter and Tess operate, their relationship. I want to thank you for capturing Tess so perfectly, because she's such a neglected character. Her reactions to what Daxter tells her are just so right, so natural. My favourite part from the chapter was this:

"...That she was always here for him?

Maybe, but it still felt wrong to say. Felt wrong to promise. She didn’t know what it was about him, but she could kind of feel that Dax and his friend were meant for greater things and that they’d be above and beyond her. Hell, it was obvious when they single-handedly defeated Kor. She just wouldn’t always be there."

Because I've always felt that there was always something a little off about Daxter and Tess's relationship, something that she could feel. How does Tess deal with the fact that her precious Daxter is a hero who helps save the world, while she's the side-character who serves drinks and makes guns? A lot of the fandom seems to just dismiss Daxter and Tess as the game's "cute couple," but you've given their relationship some real thought.

And Daxter... so many of Daxter's thoughts and feelings in this could seem forced. But they don't. They flow smoothly and just seem like natural elements of his character. Because you're a good writer.

Thanks for this, and keep up the good work.
