I'm going to cry now. Just so you know.

Really lovely work here... Short, sweet, straight to the point :) Heart-breakingly sad, and yet somewhat uplifting at the end...

Short and very bittersweet. It caught the mood of the 'Trust and Betrayal' OAV very well - that sense of missed connections and almost happiness. The last line, "She smiled anyway" was perfect.

Very sweet and sad. It's interesting that you write such touching moments between Tomoe and Kenshin as well as Kaoru and Kenshin. Some people don't like to do that, but I still think that this was a touching piece.

Thanks for sharing this.

Good luck!

What a sad sense of opportunities lost and what a harsh way to learn the need to seize the moment! The idea that Kenshin was finally ready to truly open himself to her and move closer just as the house of cards collapses is truly sad. Or course, the idea that she understood enough and "smiled anyway" will only cause him to be haunted by her all the more.

Love this- strong, sad, sense of finality.. though comlpetition is far.. very far.

Awesome work!

I like it! But you overdid the sentimentality, and the content feels rather crammed into the oneshot.

OH! Did you post this over at LJ? I somehow seemed to have missed it! (ACK.) Beautifully done, and thank you so much for taking my request a bit later! :D I definitely loved it; you did a marvelous job on the Battousai/Kenshin-Tomoe relationship! Awesome job!

the feeling of "ships passing in the night", of opportunities missed, time wasted, things that "might have been", is almost too heartbreaking to bear!

most of my own 100-word ficlets are tight-focused on a moment, but here you've captured an arc in his life, a period of change, or development-truly amazing!
