Ah, 'Lizabeth sounds to be in denial, hmm, methinks so. This was a lovely little ending:

"Afterwards, sitting still and staring at the dark Elizabeth pressed a palm against her chest and shivered.

Elizabeth could not live without her compass.

Unfortunately, she had not realized she could not live without her heart either."

This is good. A series of vignettes, sounds promising! I particularly liked this line:

"Little Lizzie might want to marry Will but he was sure she just plain wanted him."

That summed it all up rather well, I thought!

That, was exquisitely beautiful. I love how the emotions overshadowed the dialogue and plot. It's brilliant how you captured what every jack/elizabeth shipper feels and turned it into this. Excellent.
