I rewatched the first Cardcaptor Sakura movie today, so this fic really hit the spot. I believe she really is a caring mother despite the way she acts. The way she smiled at Sakura in the movie only showed how kind she was beneath her exterior. This story seems like a perfect fit to her.

I always enjoy reading fics that feature 'background characters' such as this one, especially when it is done well. The atmosphere created by your words remained constant throughout, giving me a good idea of who Li Yelan is beneath the surface. My only suggestions: try to find out the mandarin chinese equivalents of the Japanese words that you use in here (they are after all Chinese and the story is set in China) as well as do a grammar check. Otherwise, nice job. :)

It brought a tear to my eye. It really did. This is a well written story. But it's so sad.

Very good story. There aren't many Yelan fics out there. And most of the times, Yelan is portrayed as a mean person who doesn't care about anyone.
