FantasyFanatic613 2009-05-06 . chapter 1Odo review number 6 (see my review for Nimbus 1944's if confused):
I like the way you used Roman numerals to show a change in the rhythm. My favorite is stanza II - it's told very well, rapid and action-like. There is the issue of Grindelwald being more contemporary, as other reviewers have pointed out, but I can think of several solutions, perhaps the simplest being that it is a different Grindelwald! |
omnipotent Porunga 2009-01-11 . chapter 1what a range of imagination! not just the poem, but the topic itself. ODO d GR8.
let us drink a bottle of butterbeer to his feats and yours too.

SuGaRLiLy 2007-07-27 . chapter 1This tale of yours tells of Odo the Brave!
(I don't think the rhymes are bad).
The wording was great, the yarn so well spun,
and for Odo I felt really sad.
Great job on this song, it gave me great joy,
as I sat here and read it in bed.
Yes, Odo was brave, and Odo was great,
and remembered, though he is dead. |
potterrules92 2007-02-24 . chapter 1hey, wow, this poem was amazing! i absolutley loved it! awesome job!
do you think that you could drop by my story and give it a read and review? i'd really appreciate it if you did. =D |
InkandPaper 2006-09-12 . chapter 1The rhyming's not bad! Sheesh, I wish I could write poems that rhymed and make sense! I love your original take on it, with Odo being the one who killed Grindelwald! Though the chocolate frog card says different :-) okay ignore me!! I think it's really good!
And as he fell, Odo laughed,
A laugh of joy untouched with pain,
His bloodied face did with pleasure glow
As the heavens let their tears rain.
These are my favourite lines! |
MartyMcFlyJr 2006-08-29 . chapter 1no the rhyming is NOT bad! wow this was flippin' AWSOME!! gosh darnit, the II stansa (sp?) makes me wanna see that fight!! |
whitehound 2006-07-30 . chapter 1Um, OK - but Odo was supposed to be an historical figure, someone from the far past, whereas Grindelwald is a contemporary of Hagrid and Slughorn's. |
Bellegeste 2006-07-25 . chapter 1Interesting to see Odo appearing in a more contemporary setting (well, in wizarding terms, the Grindelwald era could almost count as contemporary). He's becoming something of a time-travelling hero - popping up whenever a saviour is required to do valorous, chivalrous deeds. Pity he always ends up dying - makes him more of an anti-hero really.
I enjoyed the poem - good to see the story given a different twist by breaking the mould and not quoting JKR's final verse. |
Dead-Luthien 2006-07-24 . chapter 1HI!! I'm so sorry for not reviewing sooner but as you know, I'm out of town and the monitor of the only computer with internet that I had acces to, broke. Anyway, congratulations for your poem. It's good, and don't worry about the rythm. I think it's ok. I can't wait to read your other updates but I don't know when it will happen because right now I have to learn because I have 2 more exams.(I don't feel like learning because it's so hot!!) |
Nimbus 1944 2006-07-24 . chapter 1Once again, in evil times, a hero must be called,
And Odo has returned again — to battle Grindelwald.
All hail Miranda, number six to carry Odo through!
We fear not; always he returns to fight the dark anew. |
Bagge 2006-07-24 . chapter 1Odo the Hero, who was born into tragedy
Stood up to his foe, with a heart full of bravery
A bitter pill to swallow, in this time of strife
For joy, and love and peace to fight, and to give up your life
Currage bring victory, that's a truth so true
And yet an Odo Poet has told his tale anew |
