Erm, messed up version is right.

1) Your tenses are all over the map.
2) Spell check is your friend--gem, not Jem; Oxford, not oxford; von dem Eberbach, not Von Dem Eberbach.
3) The plot device is ridiculous. Estates have to go through probate, which takes time. There is no way that this would be overlooked by the best intelligence officer in NATO. And that's just for starters.
4) Half the "story" is song lyrics. Narrative text would be more informative.
