I just have to say that I honestly tried reading this. It was rough around the edges during the beginning, but it had its charms and potential. But as the repetition of "But he/she wouldn't find this out until later" increased, I couldn't help but become annoyed. It's perfectly fine to suggest the irony of the moment in that way, but to the extent of maybe one, two, three times at most. The constant reminders that events are going to plunge into a downward oblivion is a bit tiring.

What also bothered me was the abrupt shift in characterization of the two protagonists. What happened to the quirky Dormee and the brooding but teasing Anakin? Once their friendship developed, their story became a mesh of googly eyes and "shy" smiles of embarassment. Personally, I think the best chapter so far was the fifth, where Anakin's character was portrayed as a complex assortment of rage, grief, loneliness, and also the acknowledgement of his guilt without actually experiencing it. What happened?

I was also wondering if this story is intentionally similar to "Obsession," which also utilizes the same character/relationship development strategies: Anakin's fear of water, Dorme's sudden inferiority-complex with Motee, her unprecedented hotel visits, and of course the constant repitions of their modesty.

This story has its moments that make me consider continuing to read it (I especially enjoyed the deletion of those awkward Naboo romance scenes as well as Anakin's more intelligent battle with Dooku), but those unexplained character deviations and the repetitive lines and paragraphs make for a difficult read.

Most awesomely one of my favorite Star War stories out there.

What a fantastic story. So well-written, I laughed, I cried, I smiled and frowned. I enjoyed this fanfic very much and look forward to the upcoming The Empire fic. This ship is rather unique in my eyes and I adore it. You make it seem like it really could have went down like this. Very realistic feel to it that had me on the edge of my seat every chapter. Those Jedi Council members just make me so upset. They don't get that even having attachments must be balanced. Having no attachments is not a balance of any kind. Sometimes its the people closest to us that help us when were in our darkest moments. Okay now that I've gone on long enough, great story and keep up the wonderful work.

Whew, took me several days to read this fic but once I started I simply could not stop. Quite an unconventional couple Anakin/Dorme is but you make it work so well that it is so believable. Great writing and I enjoyed how you didn't make his recovery like the snap of fingers quick. A truly well-written, amazing fanfiction and I look forward to reading more soon.

This chapter about drove me crazy!

I kept wanting to say "Anakin, idiot, she loves you!" And "Dorme, idiot, that's not what he meant!"

I haven't felt that frustrated since I listened to the poor Verizon customer trying to explain to Verizon that 0.002 cents does not equal 0.002 dollars!

I just... I just... I wanted to hit one or both of them over their heads! The only one who had a real clue and a clear head was Bene!

I like your view of the Dark Side... being like a drug addiction.

I've tried to understand it for a long time. Just being power hungry didn't seem to explain it well enough for me.

But thinking of it as a drug that affects your ability to think... that makes you paranoid and/or speaks lies into your head.

It makes sense then that Anakin was so easily able to turn on Padme in Episode I, so easily able to deceive himself that Padme had betrayed him.

Anyway, love the way you are portraying this, and also how you are having Anakin take time to break his addiction. :)

And I'm still thrown by how guilty Anakin feels, but w/o really thinking about all the murders he's committed. He's more guilty about using the Dark Side, not about what he did while under it's influence.

Or at least that's how it appears to me.

This sucks. There are bunch of reasons why Anakin can’t and will never love Dorme.


1. He needs some to comfort him when he is angry, sad and/or frustrated.
2. Dorme is just a handmaiden.
3. Padme is smart, pretty, and she understands Anakin.
4. Unlike Dorme who feisty and always pushing him away.
5. There never was a Anakin/Dorme relation ship in the Star Wars Saga. Anakin loves Padme; he even turned to the dark side for her. Why? Because loved her not some lowly woman.


The reason there can’t be a relation ship between Vader and Dorme is quite simple.

1. Vader always loved and always will love Padme.
2. In the OT books he is always thinking about her, not some ugly handmaiden.

Awesome chapter! Was sure that Bene and Anakin were going to come to blows. Anakin did an awesome job holding himself back. Vader would have dispatched Bene the minute she ignited her saber. ;)

I can't remember if it was this chapter or the prior one, but I remember the foreshadowing dream or vision where he felt like he was dismembered and on fire. Heh-heh. ;)

Wow! Anakin cut off the Emperor's hands! He's not succumbing to the darkness so easily!

[Although he's certainly killed alot more innocents in this timeline vs. the Star Wars universe's timeline, LOL!]

And letting Obi-Wan know to kill him if his family is killed... whoa...

Kindof threw me off having the stormtroopers executing order 66 while Anakin and Obi-Wan were trying to rescue Palpatine. ;)
