xnightmare'sxnightmarex 2009-12-04 . chapter 13I cannot begin to tell you how much I enjoyed reading this story. The scenes and characters were believable, the situations were realistic, and the way this was portrayed was incredible, to say the least.
Currently, I am reading Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, so reading this was a deep contrast to the Victorian Day style seen in Great Expectations. This went into great detail of the great struggle it takes to become accepted socially. And though some parts seemed like all Harry cared about was self-image and self-worth, etc, etc, I could tell by the way you wrote it, that that was all most men cared about then.
You took an already great plot and spun it into something so much better than what I expected. I began reading this and when I started I just could not, it was like this story had grabbed ahold of me and just wouldn't let go until I read the very last word. I unfortunately had to stop reading, and had to go a whole day without reading it again, and I can assure you it was all that was on my mind that day.
I enjoyed this story not only because of it's incredibleness, but also because it was insightful. I really enjoyed reading about Fredrick's story, it was sad, but like Draco said it was a good thing he married the women. I also found it rather interesting that Shakespeare might've had male lovers.
I know it must've been time-consuming researching all the information on the Victorian era. I also am researching a lengthy subject so I can appriecate the time you took to find all the information and that you would find ways to insert that information. It really made it seem like this was written back in the Victorian Era.
Jeez, I'm sorry I left such a long review, but I would've felt guilty leaving a short review for such a great story. Thank very much for posting this story, I enjoyed reading it immensely. :D |
RRgirl (can't login currently) 2009-10-18 . chapter 13 i loved your story-- you truly have an outstanding grasp of literature prowess. i don't believe i have ever liked a story as much as i liked yours. of course there could always be touch ups, but i couldn't see any really- maybe a few with the characters voice strength in the story and plot. honestly though i loved this story, and i really hope you do something similar again (maybe a modern version?) if you haven't already. I'll be sure to read your other stories now. |
maara 2009-09-09 . chapter 1 This story was well written and good read.
But I really think that Malfoy made wrong decision he shouldn’t came open about his sexuality. It was not worth it he lost his name, allies and other men respect and opportunity be with Harry in public. It was brave but completely unnecessary what it gives to him? Sometimes you should keep yours skeletons in wardrobe.
By the way didn’t it made Harry double faced it was him who speak with Draco about telling to others about homosexuality but he never considered himself to be so open about that like Draco did.
I deeply admire Oscar Wilde however I believe he would choose to keep his homosexuality as secret if not that bastard who Lord Douglas called father. |
