I love this story its extremly well written. I would love to see a continuation, although that doesn't seem very likely :(. Sometimes your timeline is a bit confusing. Once you said that Harry was in forth grade, but Sirius died when he was in Lupin was a teacher in 3rd grade... SInce it is AU it of course doesn't matter as much.

i wonder what could have happened to harry's arm? i dont think it could be the dursleys, what with it being so late in the term. mysteries are always fun though! anyways its good so far :)

I'm not versed in abuse psychology, but I wonder whether it would be a good thing for Snape to enter Harry's mind and discover the truth. At least then Harry wouldn't have the fear that he would find out to prevent him raising his shield, because Snape already knows. It might also mean that Snape stops asking so many questions and therefore making Harry dread their meetings.

I like and respect Professor Severus Snape. I hope that during the next encounter he explains to Harry that practising for such long time was not a mistake to be punished for; that the way he practised alone was "completely relaxed", compliment him, and explain to him that even though he perceives Professor Snape as a threat, and would be hardly dissuaded from this (Professor Snape could give him some magical oath, though; or he could speak with Harry about why it would serve no purpose for him to attack Harry), Harry shouldn't shatter because of his presence: keeping eye on your surroundings doesn't mean you cannot concentrate on your exercise, and concentrating on exercise doesn't exclude observing surroundings and being able to defend yourself adequately against an attack (though Professor Snape would not attack him: if it is found out, his position is compromised in eyes of the Ministry, the Headmaster, and even Dark Lord (who wouldn't approve of spy so rudely blowing his cover and attacking The-Boy-Who-Lived); and in order to be not found out, he would have to memory charm Harry Potter and let him go after 'lessons', without achieving any goal, besides making himself vulnerable to whoever finds out; it would be insane for Professor Snape to attack him, but then, some people are insane, like Bella, Tom...). It will be beneficial for both later lessons of hand-to-hand combat, and real situations. Like: Harry said he was injured by a gang, but if Harry managed to keep himself from panicking when seeing them, he would be able to combine combat movements and running to prevent repeat of such terrible injuries; not matter how strong or heavy bullies are, trained, fit, self-disciplined 'victim' can escape them, as long as he doesn't give up and allow them to beat him within inch of death.

Awesome story! Especially the brilliant way that Severus has set about trying to unravel the very unique puzzle of trying to find out what young Harry is behaving so out of character.

Severus truly does seem to like, or even thrive upon on intellectual puzzles even if its not potions. But he does seem to be faced with his toughest case yet in Harry. I really do think its a right shame that Severus, couldn't discipline that annoying snot Draco Malfoy with more than 2weeks detention for his irresponsible actions. Though I do wonder just how Draco's father or the Voldemort would have reacted if they learned about the idiotic plan Draco used to try and harm/or seriously injure or kill Harry Potter?

I can't wait to find out just how Severus will eventually get the answers to all/or some of the questions surrounding Harry that are bugging him? Also to find out just why those who are close to Harry, along with his other professors haven't noticed anything different about him...and if so, why has it taken the head of slytherin house to act and not the head of gryffindor? How will Severus react when Harry's secrets are revealed to him?

Will Severus learn more about just which Hogwarts students might have been recently initiated into the death eaters? Sure'll Voldemort would only accept 7th yr students who were more educated/skilled at magic but were also due to graduate soon as death eater initiates, and not 6th yr students regardless of who they were?
