Tenten's name in Japanese, in katakana, as Kishimoto writes in the actual manga:

テンテン

Ten strokes.

I think you got it wrong. Tenten written in Japanese or Chinese is still exactly the same character. When written it only consists of 8 strokes in total. 4 for each character. Two strokes from left to right, followed by a stroke from the top line down to the left and then a stroke from the bottom line to the right. Four strokes. 天天
