As for the story... what an awesome start! I thoroughly enjoyed this first chapter. And the title! The story captures you even with its name. Great choice!

Anyway, you have an excellent balance in genres so far. I've always loved stories in which a single chapter can contain comedy and drama, sometimes even at the same time. Although it's supposed to be in the category of drama and suspense, it's great to see that you never keep it in that tone. But then, when have you ever been tied to a single genre in any of your stories? =)

It's interesting how you're developing Danny's inner conflict (as well as the whole plot). One can feel how much he really longs for at least a bit of normalcy in his life; how he would really rather be hanging out with his friends instead of fighting against the same old ghosts.

Speaking of ghosts, the Chameleon really is a cool (though frightening) villain. He's not the regular 'freak of the week'. You even made the rest of the Ghost Zone afraid of him. But what will happen to Danny now? I can't wait to read the rest.

Again, this is a very promising start and I'm really looking forward to the rest of the story.

Cool. I LOVE where this story is going. I love the "Vlad torturing Danny" stories. Because, in the end, like Diane Duane wrote, what's bound lashes back with the force of the binding.
