Tashilover 2008-05-12 ch 6,	abuseAs exciting as the fic is so far, one major problem I have is, I don't think they would've send Ponyboy straight to Vietnam without going through bootcamp. Of course, I have very little idea what the draft situations back in the day were like, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't send a bunch of kids over ther without some training first. Even the lowest of grunts go through basic training. That's only my beef. Great fic so far.

You get these great story ideas, you stick to them, you keep everyone in character, and you entertain, shock, and tearjerk the reader in turns :p This was a great read, definitely lived up to my expectations of your last story. And can I say, I cracked up at that Hardy Boy/Nancy Drew line - I used to be obsessed with those books when I was little. I also liked how you inserted Johnny and Dally as guardian angels again.. it's so sad sometimes when such integral characters get forgotten in post-death fics. Although if they keep showing up every time Pony has a near-death experience, it could be hazardous for everyone's tensed nerves :P Anyways, can't wait to read your continuing story!

Steve's were the best - and I liked Ponyboy's comment on them near the end, too. I didn't really like the end that much, though - at least not the ending line. It felt sort of sad, not happy like it should have been! Just a technicality, though, so don't worry about it. This was a real treat of Curtis angst and superb writing. :)
