You're writing style is a little to sparse for my tastes, and it kind of irritated me that Omega was so good they sustained zero casualties before the end, but after I read the last line, I still sat back and said to myself, 'damn, that was a good story.'

Good fic, really good fic. Keep writing.

That was a great fic. You got some writing skills. Although I did want to see Maniac crash into Blair and take out Blair and take his own life at the same time, I still liked your approac. I'm reading your sequel and I expect to see some good things from it.

I'll admit that I haven't read your update chapters properly yet but I just had to say, You killed him, you killed him, you killed him! And you didn't even let Maniac do it. I'm more than a little disappointed but it's your fic so you can do what you want. Sigh... I was really looking forward to seeing Maniac and Blair fight it out especially since that now that I have played Prophecy, I thought that it sucked. there was so much they could have done with it... Sigh... again... I'm still reading despite my opinion _ and I am interested in learning what things are in the wreckage of insect Blair's fighter. Actually, it occurs to me that if they made Blair into a bug what's to strop them from Cloning that bug Blair or of using some of the Blair clones that Tolwyn made. Enough thinking. Even though you didn't let Maniac do it, I'm interested in where you are going. I haven't been very supportive here, have I? Oh well... It's the truth and that's more important. Your fic is well written and does keep to the rules of the Wing Commander universe so that's what's important. Oh, oh, oh... another question, when naming the 'Cobra's' did you pick the name randomly or where they named after the character Cobra? If the later is the case can we expect to see other fighters named afters aces? Ships called the Maverick, Maniac, Iceman, Angel etc could be interesting! _ A nice fic and I look forward to seeing more. Oh... you finished it... Well I will read the end soon then. _

Nice Fan Fic, I loved the plot twist though, an interesting touch putting luk-er Blair as the new evil bad guy.

I have read with enthusiasm everyone's comments and reviews and I thank you all. I want everyone to know that the story will be updated as soon as the browser problem is fixed. But to the reason I am writing this. I feel the need to expound a few of the issues/problems that some of you have expressed with the story. Now I am not dismissing what you are saying, constructive criticisms are awesome. I am just giving you my take on what/how I am thinking. Maybe after I give my side of the story you will understand the way my brain works. The first is the length of my chapters. Okay, yes many of them are short, and it always sticks in my mind now, "Is this long enough?" after reading that criticism. However, think clearly about the exposition Cinema Scenes in Prophecy. 90% of them are short, too short. Even if it is only happening on the subconscious level for me, I wanted the chapters to do somewhat the same thing. Short, and to the point about the thought that was being conveyed at the time. Not very much fun I know, but hey, I'm not perfect. The Second issue people have is seeing the Maniac in action against the Omegas and what my take on it is. I made the statement that they fly ships that are ten years more advanced than the ones he flew. They would get thoroughly trounced in a fight against him if they flew in a ship that he has flown in. The third and final problem I am going to address is the fact that they seem to be REALLY good, almost too good to be rookies. I have two explanations for that one. The first is that Casey in Prophecy was fresh out of the Academy simply delivering a ship to the Midway when he was roped into the events that transpired. Look how good he is made to look/be during the game. Second, I never said that they were fresh from the Academy when they got their assignment on the Palau, I just called them rookies. (Trust me on this one, I checked.) They are the top pilots from their graduating class and were participating in a special training program to learn to fly the newest fighter in the ConFed arsenal. (see Flash from WC III.) And it is implied that they were in that training program for quite some time before getting sent aboard the Palau. Now I could keep talking and giving examples from the story that could further reasonably explain how come they are so good, but I won't waste your time. I understand that not everyone thinks and interprets the same way that I do, but I just wanted everyone to see/understand my reasoning behind it. Again, I am not dismissing your comments, I welcome them. (How else can I improve my stories?) Now some of you may continue to argue these points I have made, and it is well within your rights as the reader to do so. Who am I to tell you what is what? I again thank everyone who has read the story to this point and beyond. Keep reading, keep reviewing, and for God's sake, read all of the Wing Commander stories not just this one!

Well, so far I love what you have written although, and I realise this is deliberate a bit more on that very 'interesting' bug would be nice. I have got to play Prophecy. Grumble grumble. I do have to agree slightly with some of the other comments you have received in saying that Omega seem to be a little too good. I know you have stated that they were the very best of the graduates but still, I remember a couple of classic moments in WC where the graduates get their butts kicked by the veterans. Speaking of Veterans I would love to see what Maniac is like in the cockpit, not necessarily in combat but in a sim could prove really interesting. And of course what Maniac thinks of the bug being Blair and his view, now of Blair. Is the rivalry still there or did Maniac finally admit defeat? Guess who I think is the better pilot? Grin. Doesn't matter, what you have done so far is great although I am waiting for the pilots to come down with alcohol poisoning and I'm not just talking drunk here. Can't wait to find out what happens so keep up the good work

Very interesting and well written, although I think the Omegas are a 'little' bit too good to be just out of Academy.(On the other hand I thought the same about Christopher Blair:). GOOD STORY! I've read the books based on the games (the books come HIGHLY recommended, especially the ones about the earlier games and the war at that point). It was the name, Christopher Blair, that drew me in. And now, with the new bug who sounds VERY familiar... I'll be checking back a lot. "Keep it Up Kid!"

You know, I think it'd be highly amusing if the reason Maniac and the CAG wanted them in the simulator so much is to jump in at some point and clean their clocks. After all, damn good pilots or not, they aren't going to be better then someone like Maniac with only a single mission as experience. Of course, that's probably just me liking my own ideas wayyyy too much. And dude, this ain't insignifigent. Looking at that, it would seem my spelling is. It's just the shorter chapters give a smaller feel. Keep writing, I have a feeling that bug's got something to do with Blair and I wanna know what!
