OK, last review for this work. In chapter 4, a surviving Smurf destroys all of Gargamel's books, chemicals, clothes and belongings to prevent him from ever harming other living things again. Gargamel is neutralized by a demon shortly after. He doesn't appear again in the story.

In the last 2 chapters, a descendant of his has resumed the quest for Smurfs, causing worry & woe for them in Vancouver (I've been there). How did any of Gargamel's books survive and secondly, Gargamel did not seem like the kind of man who'd marry and have any offspring.

This is a very professionally written tale. I spent much of the afternoon of 7-8-2009 reading it. I haven't watched many of the Smurf TV films or read the books, but this really impressed me. Smurfs adopting technology, their being so vulnerable physically... the TV set seeming like a box full of yelling demons -LOL ! Wrong channel I take it...

By the way, I'm getting serious. I am the same Emmet Earwax from DeviantArt AND I was Homunk in the Seville Library. It's moribund and relict now.

O ! Wh'd thought Smurfs would adopt technology? WarWorld is certainly technologically sterile... demons in a box ? TV !

Well, I just read chptr.1 and I'd say it reminds me of some time travel stories in Jack Vance's Cugel saga. In one he is sent back a million years to retrieve something called TOTALITY which he stupidly caused to revert into the past. He finds a village of religious fanatics. When he returns to the present there is NO trace of the village and only ruins of cities that weren't even built a million years ago.

It is a wonderful story with top notch explanations and emotionally satisfying! You made the Smurfs more human(subhuman?) in a working society than Hanna Barbara could have ever hoped to have accomplished!
