moon71 2008-04-27 ch 7,	abuseAnother lovely chapter. Master Lernias makes a nice contrast to Leonidas' bullying tactics! Then again, I'm not surprised Alexander fell asleep in his lesson - his classroom seems far too warm and comfortable! I also loved the daydreams of the boys - as always your imagery is exquisite; most particularly the winged horse. I've said it before but I will say it again - I do like your warm and tender Olympias, fierce when she needs to be but such a loving mother. Who, after all, was left after all the succession wars to tell her side of the story? Cassander must surely have hated her and her other rivals had no reason to promote a good image of her, so we'll never know the truth. Whatever the truth is, it's nice to see a strong and decent female character in a fandom which tends to villify so many of the females in Alexander's world. Looking forward to chapter 8!
Lysis 2008-04-11 ch 8,	abuseAgain, Northern Light you have written a lovely, enchanting story. I just love this particular story. It is my bedtime treat. Even my cats, as you know adore it. I can't wait to see what happens. Just for once, at least in the fantasy world, can Alexander and Hephaisiton have a happy ending. They deserved it so much.

I love how you managed to turn an "Alexander" tale into a fairytale instead of something more realistic. Your little Alexander and Hephaistion are so adorable I just wanna pick them both up and kiss them! Haha somehow your characterization of Lord Amyntor makes me think of Gerard Butler in "Beowulf and Grendel..." Great story! :D

moon71 2007-01-05 ch 5,	abuseYet another delightful installment. Amyntor's home seems like a fairytale castle fit for lost "princess" (sorry!) Alexander and the handsome Prince Hephaestion! As always you're so good at describing the senses - touch, taste, sight and so on, from the colour of the golden lamplight to the taste of the soft sweet bread and honeycakes in Hephaestion's home. I love your characterisation of Olympias - I feel she deserves more of a fair hearing like this and she has the quality here of a fairytale queen in keeping with the story, with just the touch of the witch about her in the nicest possible way! Leonidas is getting everything he deserves, but I don't trust him to change his ways, he again reminds me of a fairytale villain who promises never to be bad again (with his fingers crossed behind his back!!) The scene between Alexander and Hephaestion was so lovely and I actually felt it wasn't too "cute" if you understand what I mean - Hephaestion's response to Alexander's distress seemed fitting in a boy who is used to being loved and comforted. Hephaestion here is so easy for Alexander to fall in love with -I don't mean in a sexual way, with their very young ages here, but a friend to quickly become absolutely besotted with to the exclusion of all else. I would love to know how much more you plan for them and what will happen next. Moon x

This chapter was very pleasant and Alexander got a very good care here under Heph's family. I wonder how will Hepheastion cope when it was the time for Alexander to go back... Lysis 2006-10-22 ch 4,	abuseFinally, I've got some time to read this last chapter and let you know how wonderful it is. Words really can't describe how much I love this story. I read it to Siddartha and the rest of my own animals and they loved it, as always being particularly caught in the progress of the kittens and puppies and Labybug and Bumblebee. I just love your little Alexander and Hephaisiton. I wish they could have stayed so sweet and their world so safe and loving for them, but of course then they would not have grown up and had such grand adventures conqureing the world (is that an adventure?) and we would probably never have heard of them. At least in your story they can be forever safe and innocent and so sweetly adorable. (I have to admit the idea of Olympias sitting Hephaistion in her lap, even as a cuddly little boy makes me laugh, I'm not quite sure why. Perhaps its got to do with famous letter he was said to have written to her. I can't get the image of the fully grown Hephaistion out of my head. Clearly it clashes.)
Atsu Tenshi 2006-09-21 ch 4,	abuseSweet and splendid chapter. ::squeals with joy:: It must be a horrible feeling for Queen Olympias since he found that bloodied chiton. But in the end, all goes well and she found Alexander. You showed her very good side in this story, yes, a determined and strong woman, never show her weakness but here, she set out her emotion, poured everything all the aftermath after she found him. Lady Theano was a good mother too. Though she despised snake such as Hypnos...poor Hypnos. And the both boys shall stay together longer until Ale is well. Really sweet...update soon! And I'm looking forward for more of Master Leonidas. He'll be crying with joy (and hopefully shall never treat Alexander that badly). And I'm just guessing...the one when he was dreaming, the guy with golden hair and tried to pierce his heart, was that Heracles? By the way, amazing job and update soon (and not to forget...the other fic too)! ::grins::
Fredericka 2006-09-19 ch 4,	abuseAs Glaucos says as he laps his milk. . .or strikes terror into the heart of Leonidas. . ..this is so delisous. The scene with the poor, old tutor is so beautifully described one can almost feel the spiteful serpent coiling around the terrified fellow’s legs. If Queen Olympias does decide to forgive him and set him free, we can safely wager he’ll be a changed man. Lovely scenes with Hephaestion’s devoted parents; his affection for his little sister; Olympias a sweet, compassionate mother who understands her son has found a lifelong friend and gives him her wholehearted approval. All the clever animals. What a wonderful world you’ve created …going there reminds me that my childhood sense of wonder is still happily alive and well. Thank you.

Fredericka 2006-09-12 ch 3,	abuseOnce again in your unique literary voice you transport us to the magical world where fantasy becomes reality with strong charactization and descriptions so vivid I swear I could actually feel Glaucos "thick, muscular body" coiling around poor old Leonidas, who at last is getting his just deserts – I can imagine him shivering, thinking he was going to be Glauco’s “desert”. . . eagerly awaiting the next chapter. moon71 2006-09-10 ch 3,	abuseMore delights! I felt rather sorry for Hephaestion's tutor - Leonidas, on the other hand, seems to be getting what he deserves! I particularly liked the "trap" he'd laid for poor Bumblebee! But more seriously, at least he gets a chance to state his case, even if its one we don't find much sympathy with. I enjoyed the different reactions of all the adults involved, but its really Olympias, riding out, who steals the show - its nice to see her treated sympathetically and I like the little detail that Alexander obviously gets his love of animals and his ability to talk to them from her.
Lysis 2006-09-01 ch 3,	abuseOkay, I'll try this again. I love this story, just love it. I could read it over and over again. So far I've read it to my animals several times. They think it's just wonderful and esp. love the animals. The little dogs and kittens are so cute when they meet and fight and then are separated and send sullen little glances toward one another. Everything about this story is so adorable. I love how Leonidas ends up. I do hope something appropriate really happens to him, that he gets his just reward for his cruel treatment of Alexander. And, oh, that he was going to trick and kill Bumblebee! That's so horrible! Olympias is wonderful in your story, truly a queen and loving mother. Hephaistion is so sweet and loving to Alexander and Amyntor is so good to both the boys. There are so many things about this story I love that I can't count them all. Almost every line and paragraph is a treasure in and of itself. I am soo glad you wrote your dream into a story. It is just lovely. Truly something special and deserves all the praise you're receving for it. I can't wait for the rest.
Atsu Tenshi 2006-09-01 ch 3,	abuseI read the two chapters in one go and the second one is a very adorable chapter and at the same time, the pre-climax part of the wolf. Then come to the situation where the wolves are trying to do as many possible ways to devour the boys...funny, they thought of desserts too (which of course, the puppies and kittens would be). That was very interesting, amused me at the same time...especially the part that LadyBug and Bumblebee passed out because of too much horror! Their first meeting of Alexander and Hephaestion is very beautiful and sweet, it's like they knew each other for so long. and I bet this event will surely put them together closer than ever. Hephaestion does not know that Alexander is a prince and he is the one that from the room with the brightest lamp whom Heph always wondered whether that was Achilles? ::laughs:: Anyway, it was interesting to see Leonidas frighten to his wits! Serve him right! Now the queen is angry and Glaucos surely has the fun time torturing Leonidas with some malice words... ::laughs more:: Update soon! Awesome chapters and I really have fun reading them. ^_^ ::glomps::
