After reading this it makes me even more sad than before that Dean dies before he can meet Logan again. It makes me wonder if Logan made the connection with Sam and Alec? Id like to see something from Logan's point of view on all of this. But this fic was still great, it was awesome that Dean managed to single handedly take down two transgenics, but I really shouldnt be so surprised, he is a Winchester after all. It did make me sad when Dean thought about Sam though, he was so angry and hurt. Cant wait to read more. :)

Interesting fic. It makes me sad that Dean didn't try to help his kid/clone out himself.

Dean turned 30 when Max's unit escaped in 2009. So Dean met Lydecker in 2000 (yet Sam was in his 4th year at Stanford in 2005-2006)?

You followed a great line of thought here, because this it totally what would happen if the Winchesters ran into any Manticore Alum, especially a transhuman. But you took it so much farther and did so much more than I imagined. Thanks for doing to math and adding a little credance to my personal fanon :) Nice work, Ginger

This is a fantastic, fantastic prequel. Having heard only a vague version of the events from Sam in 'What Comes Around', everything suddenly makes a lot of sense now that we have the backstory.

I appreciated that Lydecker just sort of... stumbled across Dean. They weren't actually looking for him when they found him. They just thought he was buckets of fun and figured his DNA would be nice to have around. And I thought it was actually sort of cute that Dean thought the nomlies were demons. I also loved how he got away: he was just let go. No one wanted poor Sammy to get involved. Dean would have fit.

I also really loved that you worked Logan's backstory into this, including how his parents died to how he learned about Manticore. Haha. And that Logan IS pretty nice to Alec considering how they met. Considering how grumpy Logan can be, they got along pretty great, even after he thought Alec and Max were dating. Logan probably never forgot Dean, not even his face. Following this, though, he probably wondered if Sam's Dean was the same as the one who helped him.

It was short, sweet, and just the perfect little add-on to 'What Comes Around'.

Even though I must have been not paying attention and read 2 instead of 1 first, this was very good, and I really liked how you put in the notes about Logan's past, making it slide in well with the story.

I really liked this. I like the way that you work in Jensen's two roles and Dean's classic fighting style of "the bigger they are, the harder I can kick their ass". Great start.

So that's what happened to Logan's parents...that actually explains A LOT.
