Sorry it's taken me so long to read and review this, but I'm glad I finally took the time out to take a look.
What can I say? I've missed your style of writing, as it always manages to evoke a reaction of emotion.
It's such a beautiful piece, and so very telling.
Once again, the characters are brilliantly written, as it the whole fic.
The bit that really struck a chord with this one was “Just one more year,” he says, and his voice sounds a bit like pleading.

It kinda reminds me of something my mum used to say to me, and it never came a year later, so I guess I'm relating to Zoe in this case.

Sorry again, for the time it's taken me to take a look. But it was well worth the wait ^_^

Very bittersweet. It made me smile in a sad regretful way. This was good stuff. Keep it up.

I really enjoyed this glimpse into Wash and Zoe's life outside of the ship. I like how in their quietier moments Zoe isn't the big warrior woman she's just a wife who loves her husband and is willing to cut his food for him. Great stuff. I hope there is more to come.

But, it made me kinda sad. Wash kept putting it off. Do you think he didn't want children?

Ya know...I sometimes wonder if Joss had allowed Wash to survive, that he would pull something like have Wash be sterile from growing up on a polluted industrial world or Zoe be barren cuz of an injury in her past or exposure to Alliance chemical wepaons or something. Cuz ya only have to look at people exposed to Agent Orange in Vietnam or depleated uranium rounds during the First Gulf War to see that possibility:(

Still...it was a lovely look at Wash's background and family, Stormkpr:D
