Shadowcub said it best. I try my hardest to make myself like the Marauders, but every pro Marauder fic I've ever read glosses over the fact that the Marauders maliciously abuse Snape. Sure the fic mentions it sometimes, but then justifies it by saying that Snape is an prideful bastard who brings it upon himself, or that it was just harmless pranks, when clearly, the Marauders initiate the altercations, and that the pranks are derogatory, malicious, and downright violent. I don't particularly like Snape, but I can't bring myself to like the Marauders either, since they are clearly the bad guys in that rivalry.

I mean, seriously, your fic goes on and on about how the Marauders feel that Sirius betrayed Remus's trust and how he took advantage of their friendship. Because clearly, Sirius almost killing Snape, as you mentioned in your AN, isn't the important bit for the Marauders. How is that supposed to convince anyone that the Marauders are anything more than a bunch of self-centered, arrogant fucks who don't actually feel sincere remorse about almost killing a guy?

This is not me "flaming" you, about how I think 'omg alan rickm-I MEAN ma DAH-leeng sevvie snape iz da SCHMECK-SIEST guy in da wurld and thus you suck, Snape-basher'. I'm just saying that as far as this fic goes, its very typical of all the other pro Marauder fics out there. So hey, if that was what you were going for, congratulations. If you were going for giving readers an insight on how Marauders think, then all you've managed to do is repeat the same old pattern that other pro-marauder fics have already shown (that is, that the Marauders were a shallow group of self-righteous people who thought that being in Gryffindor was the end-all-be-all of goodness).

i think your story is totally awesome, quite frankly. i find the way everyone responded to what happened was pretty realistic and i do think that all the windows in Gryffindor Tower breaking was a nice touch. :D But seriously. Based on the update date, it's been more than two years since you updated and I, for one am eagerly awaiting the next chapter

I love your story... Really, I do. And I really don't think they're blaming Sirius for the wrong thing. His betrayal was the thing to be blamed, because the other events started because he told the secret.

Thanks for updating, and for the nice long author's note. I love when y'all explain your rationale; it just makes things more fun. My only Snape wish is that he not be driven right into the Dark Lord's hands because of this. The reactions of the Marauders seem pretty accurate. One more reason why they are particularly forgiving of Sirius is probably the pack-mindset.

kl story but the mention of the fact that two oc's are in this ruins it, they have nicknames so are obviously close to the marauders if not in them so sorry but that is extremely annoying if you gave them actual names and didn't call them by nicknames it wouldn't be so bad but the familiarity makes them similar to mary sues and that is something that would utterly ruin this story!

Good chapter, even with showing the Mauraders in a realistic way. Even having Lily hiding her little visit to Snape from James is realistic.

You're not selfish but this entire story is how to get Remus out of trouble, Snape's name is never mentioned unless it's Snape's not dead is he poor Remus, typical pro Maurauders. Minerva admiring their transformation while ole Sevvie is about to bite the bullett.

I looked for something to make me like these guys and see nothing but them trying to get ole Remus out of trouble.
