Mad Elf 12/10/10 . chapter 3
I'm sorry? On what minute of what hour of what day, month and year; in which city of which country on which *planet* can this story be considered 'complete'?

This site really needs an 'abandoned' tag.

Damned shame, because this was *really* entertaining!

I'm lost of words. Your Story is more than Fantastic. Please continue it as soon as possible.

Awesome read, Arthur! Thanks!
Cupid's Bride 9/2/06 . chapter 3
NO! Say it isn't so! Say this is not complete! It can't be! They aren't married yet ! Shampoo hasn't shown up yet! And Ukyo hasn't shown up yet! But if it is... the endings kinda nice. With Ranma saying "Let's go home." For it means that he considers the Tendo Dojo their home. Hahahah. Great job, Arthur!
Wonderbee31 3/15/05 . chapter 3
This was a really good story, one that was nice to see. The Tendo girls were all a little more amplified in this one, Kasumi going to become the ultimate housewife, Nabiki a more bitchy version of herself, and an Akane that had finally become the martial artist she should have been in the manga if she'd been trained seriously, as well as Ranma who varied much more fiercely in his competitiveness. I hope that you can keep this up someday, as it's really good.

Definitely an interesting take on the start of the series... I could tell from the get-go how vastly different Nabiki's character was, and I'm beginning to get that vibe from the others, too. But who's Nanami? o_O This'll be interesting.
Rmorletd 10/5/03 . chapter 3
That's one pretty good story you've got there, overall. But I'm afraid that I probably won't follow it any further. Just remember it's because of my views, not the quality of the story.

The main thing that I reproach to your story is the contest of skill between Ranma and Akane. Having read the whole manga and seen a large part of the anime, it just strikes me as wrong to see Akane better than Ranma, even with the conditions you've listed.

Akane better than Ranma in his girl-form at this time of the story, I can handle. He is not really used to his girl body. But afterward it just seems wrong to see Ranma defeated three times out of four (or is it twice out of three? I don't really remember...)

I mean, from what I understand, Akane trained extensively for nine years, but still went to school, which cuts on the training time, going on trips for a few months at the time. On the other hand, you have Ranma who was trained constantly for ten years, and being always on the move. Just comparing that, it would seem logical, thought not certain, that Ranma would be at least slightly better. Add to that that in the original serie Ranma was the faster learner, and it would really place him ahead. But then again, you're writting an AU.

If you continue this, please make it easier on Ranma. Here, disconting Ryouga and Kuno, he really has it even rougher than normal for his self-confidance. In all logic, if you continue this track you probably will have to make him get really depressed about being the constant second unable to rise above. Like Ryouga did in the original story.

Please update this! I wan't to see what happens next! Some people think that Ranma ot being the best was bad, but I think he needs some humble pie due to his usual ego. Besides, he's not that bad, when last they fought seriously, Akane's been beaten up badly even when she won.

Birthright has been consistantly one of my favourite fanficitions. I can't wait to see where you take them in the future.
Moonlady 1/30/02 . chapter 1
WWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH! I CAN'T READ ANYMORE ! RANMA JUST HAS TO BE THE BEST! But I did like the change in Akane's attitude. I like the relationship between them... BUT I JUST CAN'T READ A FIC THAT RANMA ISN'T THE BEST ! I CAN'T READ ANYMORE ! WAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH ! No WAY could Akane ACTUALLY be better than Ranma... But still, I DID like the things in this fic that you changed.
Super Kawaii 1/30/02 . chapter 3
It has been a while since you have updated. I'm glad you are still continuing. I absolutely love your story; it is so well written. I hope you do not change it on the account of... (ugh)

'others' preferences. I hope you continue soon.
NemesisZero 1/30/02 . chapter 3
wow, this is really good! I don't quite understand what happened to Nabiki to make her such a bitch, though. hopefully you'll clarify her past a bit in later chapters.
Warwolf 1/29/02 . chapter 1
First off, let me say I enjoy the story and am a fan of Ranma 1/2.

That said, I must say, that this story is not about Ranma, which makes it hard to enjoy.

The story of Ranma is that of a Martial Artist who's lived on the road for ten years and become one of the best in the world. Akane, however, is egotistical almost to the point of being Kuno himself in the first episode. Her first words to Ranma before their little 'contest' are along the lines of 'I won't hurt you too badly', in the first ep. Ranma knocking her down a peg or two is PIVOTAL to the show. Akane's position in the Nerima ward as the best Martial Artist around being forcibly removed by Ranma's presence is part of the charm of the first few episodes. Remember, Ranma has at least one year of training on Akane, since he trained for TEN years, Akane, in this fic, only trains for NINE. With Ranma's own unique ability to pick up or modify various styles, plus his year's worth of experience over Akane, him losing to Akane ONCE is believable. The subsequent lossses are, sadly, not so. It also makes the story more about Akane than it does about Ranma. Many elements are still the same (IE the battle with Ryouga during his first appearance where he runs off into the school), but the story is no longer about Ranma's attempts to fit in with ordinary people while becoming the greatest Martial Artist of his generation. If he isn't the best, then in both his eyes and Genma's, he's trained for nothing, if a person who never truly left her home could constantly outdo someone who's spent his left in exotic locales, learning techniques which are probably every bit as strong- if not STRONGER- than the ones this story's version of Akane learned. At that point, I would have seen Genma being so upset in just the first chapter at Ranma losing twice to Akane, I would see one of the following things:

1) Take Ranma off for another training trip to make him Better than Akane. This is the most obvious thing. Akane has trained at home in mock simulations of real Training locales, Ranma has trained at the real things. Genma would probably return to some of those areas, or hunt down other ones that Soun is not aware of.

2) Dissolve the engagement altogether. If the heir of the Tendo branch of the school of Anything Goes Martial Arts can so easily defeat the heir of the Saotome branch of the school, and on a consistant basis, the Tendo school needs no further addition from the Saotome school, whose techniques have been proven impotent against Akane, thus leaving the SAOTOME branch of the school needing to worry about it's security, and needing an heir, and if the Tendo school heir has more skill than the heir to the Saotome school, it's obvious which of the two schools would be dominant in teaching others, particularly since in this AU world, the school HAS students. Genma, being somewhat chauvanistic, and more than a bit prideful (and that last one I can't really begrudge him, since he's just seen everything he's worked for in training Ranma turn out to have been essentially a waste of a decade of his andhis son's lives), would not wish to see the Tendo school's teachings being considered superior to his branch's version, no matter how close the friendship between Soun and Genma is. Thusly, I would see Genma trying to track down Ukyo or another of the fiancees that he's engaged Ranma to, and having him marry one of them so that the Saotome school's future is assured, plus incorporating new techniques into itself that the Tendo school would not have access to, thus giving it a distinction from it's brother branch of Anything Goes.

3) Ranma, eventually becoming exceedingly disgusted with his constant losses to Akane, leaves, to find his own place in the world, possibly on a Street Fighting circuit, The Ultimate Foighting Championship, or even as (yes, I myself am training for this) a Professional Wrestler, leaving behind his former life. Deciding that if he couldn't be the best at the Anything Goes Martial Arts, he'd be the best at something else would make a lot of sense, given Ranma's personality. Leaving behind his father and the others would also make sense since they would just remind him of the fact that he couldn't win against a girl who had trained at home all her life.

The story itself is very good, and I enjoy reading it. But some parts of it simply stood out too much. In this case, the decided factor of Ranma winning only once in the four times (at least I THINK it was four.) the two of them fought, made it seem that it was wrong. I realize that's the concept, but eventually, if he stays second-fiddle to Akane, it's going to get very monotonous, especially to Ranma himself, and for that reason I see secnario 3 happening at some point. But either way, I'm enjoying what I see so far. Keep it up! .

Great story. I love the idea behind it and the plot. I hope you write more.
