Author's Note: Just a little one-shot featuring the least likely "pair" you'll ever see in the .hack/Roots universe. Haseo and Tabby clash like night and day. Haseo doesn't even like Tabby.
[He doesn’t feel strongly for her, but he acts like less of a jerk to her than he has to others. By the point that he might have started getting closer to her, Shino already had her claws in him and Haseo was blinded to everyone else even when Tabby told him she loved him]

I might make a drabble series out of this,
[The set-up looks like it, although I suppose you could also leave it as a one-shot. I just think it feels like it’s pointing to something more]

Short and sweet, as the saying goes. I could easily believe the behavior of both characters (they were very true to canon), and it was nice to see a Haseo-female character fic that _didn’t_ strictly try to pair them together. Even if the pairing becomes a possibility later, it’s nice to see people recognize that there’s platonic possibilities. Not that there’s anything wrong with Haseo-Tabby, as the two actually get along and Tabby at least actually works to build a relationship with Haseo, but that diverges from this well-written story.

You know, I agree with most. They aren't the most likely pair, but not the least either. I personally wouldn't mind seeing this continued. I wouldn't mind seeing more stories with the pairing either. ^^

I liked it! In my experiance opposites attract and I honestly think they'd make a cute couple... like on Fruits Basket, Kyo and Tohru aren't very similiar... Anyway I hope you write more soon.

I love Tabby my fav character before Ovan.

But I love the R00Ts pairings to be honest XD I really do. I really like this fic :D i wish there were more Tabby fics

Interesting... I liked it. It is like the most LEAST likely couple... Tabby gets on my nerves while Haseo is AMAZING! The best thing about this story is, hough, the characters are so in character!

but actually this has substance, tally admits to loving Haseo, and he does care for her somewhat, she's his only real friend and even though he treats her like s.it some time its obvious they sharesomething, it would be super cute if you really made a romantic setting for the two. ^.^ great job

I always thought from the final episode that tabby would have gladly hooked up with haseo if he wasn't so hung up on shino.

I haven't finish watching the whole series but to me, I think Haseo should sometimes see her efforts to help support him. XP I do support the pairing even if it's unlikey. The story ended too quickly for me but the ending was nice. ^^ Make some more please.

to me i dont think they are the least likely "pair" because they seem kind of perfect together ecspeally at the end of the roots anime. and it seems sad that she is not in the vol 1 game. but i have heard that see comes in to play in vol 3 and is a playable character.

There's only one reason why I don't support the HaseoxShino pairing: It's TOO canon. Like the writers really want to rub it in our faces that this THE couple.

Frankly, I just don't feel it. I can't even see Haseo falling for Shino. So how does him having feelings for Atoli later in the game have anything to do with how he ever fell for Shino(ALBEIT the cloning), when Atoli reminds me more of Tabby?

SOO canon...

The opening sequence of ".hack//Roots" follows Haseo, Shino and Tabby wandering through The World, under the watch of a close companion. If you read the backgrounds as a vision, saying "this is the most important person to me", there might be some merit to this least likely 'pair'.
(It certainly gives a nice context to Haseo's reaction at appearing in Tabby's dream.)

It's a cute story with every little step in the dance carefully visualized. Tabby and Haseo are two characters very expressive with their body language, and that really shows here.

Characters are in character, but development is minimum, details only need to be raised slightly in content.
And yes, it is an unlikely pairing right and left.

Is Roots being shown on TV? DVD? Or did you see it on you tube? I need to know.

Heh, Tabby's definately one of my top favorite characters in Roots. ^_^ I considered this pairing once before, but, uh... even if i kinda like it, i still wouldn't see it happening. HaseoxShino would probably be more likely, that that's just from what i've seen so far (and that's not much xD).
