A wonderful conclusion to your fic, TH! Congratulations! And I apologize for the delay in the review, but real life bit me quite hard these last few days.
Wow. Grim. This is very grim, and daunting about what will happen in the future. The Soviets are launching nuclear missiles, the Omnidroids are being launched in the Incredibles' world and the Misfits and X-Men's, international trust is going down the tube, and many countries are trying to work with the Heartless who are loyal to no one. "Bad" doesn't even begin to cover it. But I do have a question about this scene:
“We tried calling the CIA about that. Agent Lightfoot’s on assignment and can’t be contacted.” Duke replied.
“Damn it. Just like the CIA, when we need someone to expound on something, he’s on assignment.” Lady Jaye remarked.
I would think that Bryce had already shared with the Joes the copies of the Ansem reports that he found on his journey, and given that it is logical to assume that the Joes have more contacts in the CIA, but SHIELD, Interpol, ACME, and Lord knows how many other intelligence angencies around the world. If they can't ask Bryce, surely there's someone else they can ask who can offer as much intel?
What makes me even more wary of what is going to happen is the cameo of the acklay from the Star Wars universe and the mentions of Agent Brody talking with Jana make me suspicious, especially since if you're following Chamred canon. He may not be evil, but I wouldn't trust him entirely just yet.
I'm not sure that the FOH attack on Jana was so innocent and simple as it first appears, especially since it was so convenient to expose Aron. I smell a set-up.
And I feel bad for Emily and Frank, and though it was satisfying to see Stewart meet his end, I have to question why he was doing this in the first place. It's clear he had to alliance to any of the pro-Heartless countries if he let his men get sluaghtered like that, and judging how the Resident Evil Prototype and research is playing a big part in the Organization's plans, it's scary to see what the XMJ's enemies will do with that info.
I have to commend you on giving Piotr a brilliant scene in the fight against the Prototype; him willing to stay behind and buy his friends some time was completely in character for him, and logically, it makes sense that he's the only one strong enough to do it. Very, VERY well done, and I hope to see more battle scnees and glorious moments blanaced out to the other X-Men and Misfits who haven't played major roles in this story as of yet.
Again, congratulations on finishing this fic! And hope to read more of this series! Continue soon! )
Ah, this was an excellent chapter, mainly because it revealed quite a bit about what you've been hinting at.
You did the scene with Lance being in the realm of dreaming and choosing the sword, staff, or shield was a very nice homage to the Kingdom Hearts game. I was a bit surprised that Lance would drop the shield, but the more I think about it, the more I realize that the sword does fit him the most, so well done!
Now I'm thoroughly disgusted with the Jugglers, cespecially since anyone thinking that using the Heartless is a GOOD thing needs to have their head examined big time. And no, I'm not surprised that Syndrome is planning to double-cross, but then again, you are highlighting that there's darkness in all of men's hearts, and the fact that the Jugglers want to use a weapon such as the Heartless to take out the U.S's "enemies" just shows that this type of self-serving hypocrisy actually makes sense in such a government.
Wow, the Protoype scares me, and if you're planning to make it similar to the Resident Evil big-guns, then I do fear for the future of the group and agree that they need to get out, FAST.
And I chuckled at the little psat between Pietro and Dash; they don't ever stop, Cyclops, so it may be a bit of a lost hope. And it's nice to finally see Brumby here.
It's wonderful to see a new chapter for this story! Welcome back, TH! )
Now a bit of constructive criticism (and please, I mean no offense): you focus a little bit excessively on your OCs, especially Ted and his relationship with Paige (you had two one-shots for that). Granted, it is your story and you can write however you like, but considering that Lance is the Keyblade wielder and that the Misfits and X-Men and the Joes (especially the Misfit handlers) are his family and supporters and how the Keyblade wielder is in the Heartless saga, it seems a little bit odd that you're focusing on Ted and Paige, Ted's past, and how everyone wants to break them up or gets down on Ted (first Low Light and now Sam? Sam, considering he's a Whitelighter, would be the LAST one to throw stones since he had an affair with Patty Halliwell) when this is a Misfitverse story.
Now, enough with the negative; as I said, I was eager to see this vchapter, and I'm glad. You answered a lot of questions plotwise as well as hinted a bit more as to which bad guys are siding with the Heartless. Cobra of course and the Umbrella Corporation, but the revelation of Cobra LA and Golobulus was a big surprise.
And with Pythona and Nemesis Enforcer there, I definitely have no doubt that it is going to get uglier and uglier. Well done! This makes me wonder how the Misfits and X-Men will pull it off, and I dread Syndrome's plans when he said he was going after the Nexus that is under the Halliwell household. The Nexus in Organization's hands? Using the word "trouble" would be an understatement.
You played well with the humorous Coyote whose interactions are always a smile-maker.

“So you’re going to need to rely on Lance’s imaginary enemy...no, scratch that, Lance’s imaginary, insane, singing, crossdressing and gender confused enemy to find him?” Piper replied, “I hate to say it, but you guys are screwed.”
I'm not sure if Piper's statement is a gross exxageration or actually a blunt truth. But you made me chuckle, TH!
I was shocked to see how Frank was now transformed into a Heartless, and pained. Emily gets major points of respect in my book for standing up for him and preventing Fielder from shooting Frank (and as well as the Joes - they truly know what it means to stand up for someone who's been experimented on - i.e. Low Light). I'm just worried if whether or not there's a cure for Frank (actually if they can find a harebringer of the light, perhaps, but hm...)
And BTW, it's spelled "Moreausseau" not "Moreausceau". ;
Wow, so now the X-Men, Misfits, Incredibles, and their allies are heading to Promontory Hill where Syndrome has a nasty Protoype (could this be like the Tyrant from the Resident Evil series?) and considering the title of your fic, I'm beginning to think this facility is going to be tyhe climax of this fic. I seriously can't wait, though I have a feeling I'll be wincing before long.
That file? You're...bringing in Resident Evil? OMG! This is so going to rock, especially since we can only wince at how ugly it is going to be when the Umbrella Corporation teams up with the Heartless and Syndrome.
Poor Frank! This obviously isn't going to end well, especially since he's starting to show signs of turning into a Heartless.
I'm glad you're coninuing this and very pleased that you gave Scott, Colossus (it's spelled "Piotr", not "Pitor" BTW ) being able to take out the fire-breathing Fat Bandit, Kurt, Kitty, and Bobby and of course, Dash and Pietro trying to one-up each other much to everyone else's aggravation.
And no, I'm not surprised Bob, Low Light, and Truscott (wow, alcohol solves all tension and resentments!) joined to get a drink, and Ted, one of these days, Piper will kill you. She has her limits...and I take it you're not sorry to what Ted did to Inspector Sheridan, are you? )
Hello TH! I apologize for the lateness of my review, my friend. )
Poor Frank! I was utterly horrified by what Stewart did to him! So the Geneva convention does not apply to this world, huh? And honestly, I'm disgusted by this whole war and how Syndrome is siding with the Heartless while invoking a World War just for his own means. I hope the little turd-ball gets it soon because this amount of death and destruction is absolutely horrifying.
And I was also shocked when Kurt got shot. Ouch, and he needs a doctor soon, and yet I'm a bit worried at how much the Russian army is making things even more difficult for the heroes. I hope this can get resolved somewhat.
And yes, Klondike bugging Piper is always welcome! Oh continue soon, please! I'm on pins and needles and will be eagerly awaiting the day when Syndrome suffers a fate worse than death!
Excellent chapter! And I'm glad to see that you got over your writer's block. ) BTW, how far are you on KH2 now? Hope you enjoyed pounding the Organization creeps that came after you.
Ergh, the fight between Low Light and Mountaineer...I hate to say it but Low Light isn't like that so he comes off as a little OOC here. Perhaps it is a plot device, but Low Light, as worried as he would be for Cover Girl, would be considerate of Ted and his relationship with Paige. In fact, Low Light is a hardass, but he's a softie deep down too. I can buy Beach Head acting like this, but Low Light? No way.
Wow, you really depicted the battle on the island quite well and gruesomely too. And I'm beginning to see how the term "Facility Kronos" is fitting in here. And now I see what the vaccinnes were used for. Oh God, all those people were transformed into Heartless by Syndrome; this little snotty brat deserves a fate worse than death for doing this! But then again, considering that the Organization is manipulating him, he may get what he deserves.
And I do hope they can get Frank out of there because he's in for some serious trouble, even though he isn't threatened by the Heartless. Until the next chapter, continue soon and hope all is well! )
