Dickonfan 2006-09-18 . chapter 1I just ran across this story. I don't think I've read a better story that shows Tristran's complexity as this one has. He falls in love which seems to be totally against his character, admits to it which is even more astonishing, finds it is returned which is unimaginable, and loses it, which is what he expect's from life. Your ending line is the killer to his spirit. My heart bled for him. He is alone.
Thank you for this window into Tristran's heart. |
la argentinita 2006-09-04 . chapter 1I loved this, it was sad, but you did a great jo in the way you wrote about Tristan |
blu-waffle 2006-09-04 . chapter 1This was such a well-written piece. Your writing style is so very descriptive and imaginative - I didn't find myself struggling at all to visualise anything.
I loved the tenderness of the story too. It was so heart-wearming, and so when Mave left it was incredibly sad. I also liked the way you didn't have them all over each other at the end, just a simple embrace; very much reminisent of the simplicity and tenderness of their love.
Nice take on Tristan but still very much true to his character I believe. The ending really summed everything up in such a beautiful way.
I love finding writings as talented and amazing as this - so lovely!
Well done and keep writing - you're very good at it :D

Miluielwen 2006-09-03 . chapter 1Oh, this is *beautiful*! You write in such a quiet, lovely way, and you've captured Tristan perfectly. You haven't butchered him in the slightest; you gave us your view on how he became who he is, and you did it very well.
"As Tristan rode back towards the road, all that remained of his humanity was the love and the memory of a young Woad woman, both of which he had locked away with the shards of his broken heart and hidden in the deep, dark recesses of his mind."
-- Very sad. My heart broke along with his.
Keep up the good work, you've got quite a bit of talent! :)
