freddie23 2009-07-04 . chapter 4sweet little fic. loved the scene between beliond and loriel, that was so cute and funny. she is just adorable. and ithilden is having another child - exciting. |
 Zarelle 2009-03-27 . chapter 4Dear Daw,
I have followed your stories for ages. I love them so much. I've been away from fanfic for a while and come back and enjoyed them all over again.
You write the soul (or fea) of these wonderful people. Your OCs have such amazing depth that I often want to hear about them more than Legolas and Thranduil. Although I love your take on both of these wonderful Elves.
Your OCs are what make this series though. Ithilden and Alfirin seem perfect together. I love to hear about both of them.
Eilian used to be my favourite, and how could he not be? He it utterly gorgeous. He and Celuwen are pefect together (though I'd love more character development for her). Loriel is perfect. A little Eilian, god help them!
Celuwen's parent's are fantasticly real. Solith's rejection of Eilian is perfect due to how they bonded and how his past behaviour was. He has to admit though finally that Eilian is a good husband and good father. Surely Celuwen can't take anymore of him belitting Loriel's beloved Ada in front of her.
Legolas is so ready to join the Fellowship. You've done it Daw! You've made a Wood Elf Warrior make sense as a member of the nine. He has seen a lot of loss and still wants to fight and protect. I love your Legolas! (both young and old)
I'd love to read you write about more of the happenings at Dol Guldor. And the huge fight the Elves had there during the War of the Ring.
Then I'd love to read you talking from the Undying Lands. All of the people coming together. I know you did Turgon and Legolas meeting again, but I would love to see Legolas meeting Lorellin etc again. And Thranduil (I would think your Oropher would pass on Kingship, I might be wrong!) starting a Wood Elf paradise in Valinor! (Though I guess there would be no aggro so no story! Unless you have a snide battle between the Noldor/Vanyar and the Sindar/Silvan.
Anyway, I wanted you to know that people are still reading. I'd love you to update this fic and beyond. Even if you don't, I love your characters, they are so vivid and alive. |
rhov 2008-11-15 . chapter 4 wait-- this isn't done is it?
eagerly awaiting more! |
orlandochick05 2008-03-31 . chapter 4Eilian and Solith are going to get in a fist fight one day. Make sure you write about that one ;)Please update this soon! I want to see what Thranduil and Legolas think when they see Thranduil's office! |
Celede 2008-03-31 . chapter 4 I am so happy for Alfirin and Ithilden, but they are sure to find out how different boys and girls can be. And Thranduil might have little shock when he sees the condition of his office. On the other hand, he might just as well put this information beside for time being and use it later to get his way ;) And little Legolas is always so naive and thinks that his family might actually let him go alone anywhere else beside the bathroom. Of course not :D
But I must tell that I would just love to read about Legolas coming back home after the War of the Ring and facing his family :D I guess it won't be very pleasant and there might be some yelling :D |
moonshine4488 2008-03-31 . chapter 4Wonderful chapter! I'm so glad Ithilden and Alfirin are having another child. I feel bad for Eilian and Celuwen, having to struggle between duty and family. No wonder she wanted to stay with her parents while he was away! And I thought Legolas' reaction to Eilian going on the mission instead of him was hilarious. It's funny how he wants to go south to help Eilian, yet Eilian is still trying to protect him. And I wonder what Thranduil will say when he goes inside his office. I hope they at least put the stuff back on the desk! This was a great chapter, I look forward to more! |
Magicfeather 2008-03-30 . chapter 4 Aww, this was so sweet. I love the detail you put into describing Solith and Isiwen's cottage - for some reason, it really came alive for me. And I absolutely LOVE the thought that Eilian and Celuwen actually - er - 'used' Thranduil's office; only Eilian would have the guts to do that! As usual, you manage to write something that is equally heartwarming and foreboding; Thranduil's relief that he would not have to risk a granddaughter to a warrior's fate made a chill run down my spine. As we all know, in only a few short years even the area around the Stronghold is going to become a battleground and not even Thranduil's palace - which I think he relies on as a sort of security - is going to be safe.
Once again, thank you so much for such an enjoyable read and I hope you update again soon.
PS. a story about the family's reactions to Legolas joining the Fellowship would certainly be interesting ;) |
Spellcasterz 2008-03-30 . chapter 4Aw, I loved this. But then again I love all of your stories. Yay, Eilian's back finally. It was heartwarming reading Eilian coming back. And Alfirin's almost due. I wanted to know if it was possible for elleth to become warriors or if it was just the males. I was wondering if we could get to see Legolas' family's reactions to finding out he joined the Fellowship? I thought it would be interesting and imagining it wouldn't be as good as reading it. Oh well. Hope you come out with another story soon. |
nautika 2008-03-29 . chapter 4It was wonderful to see another update from you, but you cant really mean this is complete! There has to be a chapter where we get to hear the all of those conversations! Ithilden deciding to send Legolas and welcoming his new daughter; Celebwen with Thranduil and her father (whom I'd like to shake!); Legolas and Beliond! Come on, more, please? |
JastaElf 2008-03-29 . chapter 4Ahh, poor Thranduil... LOL! Ratted out--and utterly NOT on purpose! Now he'll have to listen to a lecture... it is an endless delight to me, given how contentious my own family is, that Thranduil and his various in-laws and kids have these interesting interactions. :)
And can I just say that I would love to thwap Solith a good one?? Sheesh...
Excellent chapter! My odds-on favourite part tho was Celuwen's reaction to Thranduil saying he was heading to his office now... LOLOL!! :) Thanks for the update! |
acacia59601 2008-03-29 . chapter 4I can't decide if Thranduil will be annoyed or not about the state of his office... I have a feeling he'll be amused. And Celuwen won't be able to look him in the eye for weeks!! This story is wonderful, update soon! |
Legolas4me 2007-12-14 . chapter 3my goodness, daw this chapter just broke my heart. Unfortunately, I totally understand how Ithilden adn Alfrin feel. My little girl died two years ago. For the longest time I felt the intense jealously and sorrow at just the mentioning a child. Even now the grief and pain is always there and I know that it always will be. But life does go on. I feel so bad for Ithilden adn Alfrin...at least they have each other. This broke my marriage. My ex-husband and I forgot to draw ont he love and bond we had. I am glad that Ithilden and Alfrin did not.
Overall, great chapter. You really captured the misery and pain that only the death of a child can bring. Thanks so much for sharing.

nautika 2007-11-23 . chapter 3I am 'so' glad you wrote this chapter. It has always bothered me that the reason Alfirin and Ithilden didnt have another child wasnt addressed. I didnt have an opinion on what they should do, but I wanted to know they'd at least talked about it. Or why it wasnt discussed. Whatever. Thank you so much for the chapter. It came at a good time, too. RL had me down and I needed it!
I think you have at least one fic I didnt get an alert for too. Have to check that out. |
Blaise821 2007-11-21 . chapter 3It's amazing how you made my emotions change so drastically while reading this. One moment I'm shaing my head, fighting back laughter at some wonderfully astute and innocent comment by Loriel and next comment cuts right to the heartache of Ithilden and Alfirin. The death of a child is such a horrible experience for any parent to have to go through. I do indeed hope that they are blessed again with another elfling to raise and nurture. And I've always loved Beliond, who can resist such a understated yet dead-on observer as he. The revelations we as readers and the characters in the story have gained through his eyes and observations as a neutral "outsider" into the workings of Mirkwood's royalty have always been poignant. Just a wonderful read, as always! |
moonshine4488 2007-11-21 . chapter 3Im all for them having another baby! That would be awesome. |
