Tightly written with excellent characterization. The necklace makes a really neat focal point for this story. It feels familiarly sentimental to me in a way that is rather uncommon in Ouran fanfic. Thanks for writing -- you left me with a smile on my face!

Ah, I'm rereading this and realized that I never left a review. Your characterization of Haruhi and Kyouya are perfect. They're the only ones in the Host Club who would notice the little things like a different brand of coffee or a necklace. Kyouya is always so careful about his behavior. It's nice that he finally does something that doesn't give him any direct merit except maybe making Haruhi like him more. The background characters also behave believably and adopt the original tone of the manga. The ending was sweet. Kyouya used his sneakiness for a friendly gesture and wasn't OOC.

Yep, I liked it; it was actually pretty good... Only one question: Is Haruhi already known as a girl here? Because Tamaki seems to call her daughter pretty loudly in front of everyone.
