Gosh, how could I have missed this??!! I could have SWORN you were on my author-alert list. WOW! As always, Strix, you amaze me. There are maybe one or two other fanfictioners that are this good ("denise1" is among them and I know you're familiar with her work). I can't even tell you what a joy it is to read a sam-centric fic (especially one with whumping) that is realistic, heartfelt and true to character. You actually take the time to build an incredibly complex plot-line, which is rare enough in this environment, and you really have a way of drawing the reader into it. So many sam-whumpers come across...corny and cheap. The dialogue is completely unrealistic as are the characterizations. Your fiction really transcends these common pitfalls of mundane fiction. Mature. That's what I would call your style. Mature, well-developed, and captivating. A diamond in the rough, as I like to say.

Wonderful story , nobody writes Sam whumping like you. Loved how you intermingled the code of conduct with the action. Could have done with a bit more of Sam/Jack interaction at the end ( just my shippy heart speaking), but hey, loved the humour.
