thumb-me 2009-07-01 . chapter 9Wow. You made it at 2007 and I just read it at 2009. What a time.
Well, I know holmes earlier than house. So it's not really hard to know that house is holmes. I just watched House yesterday and it's really a good movie (I watched for 12 hours :]). I googled soon after I watched it and I find this story. Really interesting.
Somehow, in my opinion, this story could be more interesting (now it's too late. hahaha). For some reasons, I think the story tends to be held in US (since house got physical ailment and not to care about going abroad. And holmes, on the other hand, must go outside of his chamber). And then there's Cuddy comes to Holmes' apartment. I think you have noticed that it's really NOT Cuddy that i know. It'll be better if Holmes come to USA because of the patient's status that somehow it'll lead to crime.
And then about Holmes following House in the hospital (chapter 2). Holmes will not do that. I can guarantee. He's a person that will get to the point of the answer by his own deduction. That's Holmes i know. First thing he gonna do is find out about the client. "I'm not going to waste my time" (there's a reason why Holmes is arrogant, right?).
Actually, there are a lot of things that I want to share with you. But it's impossible to write it all down here coz I don't want to read it either. hahaha. If you're wondering,"Why don't you make your own story, you idiot?". Well, I'm not coming from America or England. So I can't express the story well enough. It's a great job after all. You just need to know your players better. Keep up the spirit! |
Karg42 2008-12-25 . chapter 9House is every bit of a dickish addict as he should be and Holmes was every bit of sober egocentric that should be. Good job, but I think you might consider placing this in the Holmes's section as he and Watson were the main characters with House as a guest star. House's team wouldn't even desirve names if they weren't borrowed characters. |
Unitarian Jihadist 2008-09-14 . chapter 9Very interesting story, particularly with the 21st century dialogue anachronisms. Loved how House (one of the most annoying characters in modern history, or history for that matter) was able to get under even Holmes' skin.
But then again, House does has his rivals in brilliant arrogance. A certain George Alec Challenger comes to mind. |
phoenix of hell 2008-08-29 . chapter 9I want to tell you that I enjoyed this story immensely. Firstly, since the winter of this year, I have been a HUGE House fan. I'm currently watching the 4th season, and can't wait for the 5th. Secondly, concerning Sherlock Holmes... Well, I actually thought about starting to read the novels and stories when I was younger, but didn't actually act on those thoughts. Until I've become a fan of House. And I read that he was inspired by Sherlock Holmes. Coincidentally, I recently managed to FINALLY see a Sherlock Holmes movie on TV, from the beginning to the end. I usually never managed to see the beginning. And it got me interested. And I said to myself that if House's personality was inspired by Holmes's, there is no way I wouldn't like the books. So, I bought 'The Complete Sherlock Holmes', a HUGE book, which has all the novels and short stories, and I'm currently reading it. You cannot imagine my extreme happiness at FINALLY finding a crossover between my most recent obsessions. Not only that, but such a well-written one as well. You kept the characters IN CHARACTER, which is a quite difficult, and means a LOT. House, his team and Cuddy were perfectly fitted in the Victorian era, and the interactions between them, and Holmes and Watson were simply delicious! And you actually put Mycroft in there! Now, I've only read 'A Study in Scarlet', 'The Sign of the Four', and am almost at the finale of 'The Adventures of SH', so I haven't 'met' Mycroft in canon yet, but I have no doubts that he is the way you described him here. You made me a very happy person with this. As for the ending, it practically BEGS for a sequel. I mean:“We shall deal with him then, for the last time I hope.” OF COURSE he will return, and House has to be involved in that somehow. Anyway, I hope wou'll get the inspiration for a sequel, I'm honestly rooting for one. Perhaps a longer story? Anyway, thanks for writing and posting this! |
AlannaTorres 2008-06-27 . chapter 3“Could be, he was trying to kill someone in the next room but mixed up the 6 with the 9." -From chapter 3
Clever. ^_~ |
GoldenRat 2008-01-26 . chapter 9This fic is so many levels of awesome! I'm amazed by how smoothly the House cast worked into Victorian England. Great writing, terrific characterization, and this fic was fun to read. |
Sayla Ragnarok 2007-12-26 . chapter 9A very enjoyable read and hey if you're up for sequel suggestions I have one for you. What if after that encounter House winds up catching the attention of Moriarty and him and Sherlock both have to work together again, what do you think? I'd love to hear from you! |
dellacouer 2007-12-20 . chapter 9I found this fic quite a romping good read. I was a little surprised at the cross when I read the summary, the time period difference seemed unfeasible. But you managed to play these two worlds and characters very well against each other. Having House be an annoyingly proud American was a laugh, his anti-British jokes were especially funny considering that Hugh Laurie is in fact British. Smiles.
But as I said, excellent and well thought out blending. The characters were well represented, their dialogue matched nicely and it must have been tricky to deal with the wit of both Holmes and House.
Perhaps my only comment is, now that you've completed the fic you may want to go back and delete the chapters that are author notes. At the time they served a purpose but since the fic is complete they current detract more that aide. I've never attempted to delete chapters, but I have uploaded changes. I would imagine that chapters could be deleted.
But again, excellent work and nicely well written. Competent writing can be such a relief at times.
